SLB is being a coward and stingy corporation this year. They are putting people on unpaid leave in order to force them to resign by themselves so SLB do not have to pay them a single cent.
Just retrench them and give them the BSS package!

For some thought it is better than losing jobs for they cannot get jobs as half good as their current jobs.
That's not legal. If they put you on unpaid you can collect unemployment, you will be covered by SLB in that case. Also, you can be only certain number of months on Unpaid. Finally, if this gets out and people hear about it (hence I like this board as it spreads stuff like this), people deciding to join SLB in future will certainly think twice before they sign up.
