Under minimal supervision from the Manager, the Systems Engineer-Citrix position is directly responsible for the support of the the enterprise Citrix environment. The position will provide day to day operational support as well as participate in the architecture and integration of Citrix into Reliance’s Infrastructure. The Reliance Citrix environment is very complex and supports several of the Reliance Steel & Aluminum subsidiaries. This position is ‘Key’ in helping deliver applications to the enterprise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Denote essential functions)
· Contribute to the continual improvement of Citrix environment by researching issues, suggesting improvements, and keeping abreast of the technology roadmap for upgrades.
· Administer, monitor, and tune all aspects of the Citrix environment and underlying technologies to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
· Resolve production and deployment issues by researching problems and developing solutions.
· Support application teams in deployment of new features or applications within the Citrix environment.
· Troubleshoot any application issues including network issues that impact Citrix performance over LAN and WAN.
· Monitor performance and operations of applications in a Windows 2003/2008 Presentation Server/XenApp environment using various tools, including EdgeSight.
· Ensure there are no unauthorized changes to the environment by following the documented change control process.
· Provide second level escalation support and assist Help Desk and Desktop groups by developing and training them to support Citrix at the client.
· Proactively respond to potential system problems by Identifying and troubleshooting to correct any problems that affect operation of the environment.
· Provide after hour and on-call support.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (non-essential, i.e. backup duties)
· Develop and maintain documentation of the Citrix environment.
