Nabors has been struggling to transform into a suitable structure for the future, the current organization, at least on the IT side is archaic, it cannot survive and lead the company into future. Upper management should be shaken, maybe the layoffs that will hit us very soon can be used to move things around, I do not care if I am affected, but the guys high up need to be shuffled, many of them did not work in large enterprise IT groups before and Nabors would have a great 2015 if they were to show them pink slips promptly. We do not have good project planning, and our project management simply sucks, so we are missing many deadlines and many clients are not happy. This needs to be looked into as they consider layoffs. Finally, we should ask ourselves if we need so many layers of managers and decision makers who are reluctant to make decisions. What's the point, they slow things down, play politics and really need to be included in the layoff package. So, layoffs will happen and I hope some improvement will take place at Nabors. Have a happy 2015...

I couldn't agree more. IT at Nabors is broken and it starts at the top.
The CIO controls every aspect of the company stemming from the totalitarian IT system that was solidified over last few years. Up until a two years ago, you couldn't even plug something into the USB port of your PC, that's how bad it was. They were disabled. Nothing occurs in the building, NOTHING, even the cleaning staff vacuuming the aging floors, without an IT ticket. The CIO keeps to home grow IT systems and customizes platforms to such an extent that it creates a self sustaining ecosystem for him and his IT staff - they hold the keys to the kingdom. Developers are abundant, they are all over the place, they are paid high wages and company loses. This makes no sense.
