Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

It doesn't seem like its over yet?

Did anyone see Sudhakar's email? There's a mention of 3-6 months of transitioning...see beow:

Most of these changes are effective immediately, while some people will be staying on for 3-6 months to help us through this transitional period. All of them deserve a huge “thank you” for all of the contributions they have made to Citrix. I want to reassure you that we are helping all affected employees with their transitions, and we wish them all the very best. Please join me in thanking them and wishing them well.

WTH...I thought we were through this hell. More??

I read all the responses, and I must admit many of you are taking this personally and maybe you should because of all the sweat and tears you put in. However bottom line is this is not personal, it is business so just get on with it. Citrix is like any other American company, if the numbers don't add up they need to loose weight weather it is mussels you need to move forward or just dead fat. I sincerely believe that Mark was moved by this and he did not want to do this (maybe he is a excellent actor and should the get the Oscar) however I think the rest of the Management team did not care a bit. For them we are all numbers!

A colleague with many years at Citrix and deep domain knowledge was let go. He was given a "transitional" option where he could stay on for so many days or months for knowledge transfer. I'm not sure if he will accept it, but the "transition" option have been extended to engineers and not just management.

Happened to me "training an upcoming when in reality, you're training your replacement" - not with Citrix though, I worked for a large energy company and they outsourced us to SE Asia - I was unaware

Sorry, Not to sound bitter but we all hold on to that sense of "false" security that they bestow upon us. They work us until all hours of the night. Maybe throw us a bone or two. We shine on as best as we can until before you realize it you "think" you're training an upcoming when in reality, you're training your replacement.

that's probably VPs and directors who got sacked but r being allowed to "transition" their jobs to others. they get a big thank you, pat on the back, and a nice golden parachute while the grunts get walked out the door without even getting to say good-bye to their team.
