So I'm a little perturbed that our college is looking to hire a DOE and other positions when we just let go of quality people in September. WTF?

SAE is a cheap brand who want cheap labor. ExPression paid for its talent.
and that's another damn shame
At least they all got a few months severance. The current lay off gave a few weeks, if that! Some of the people at expression that were laid off had worked there less than a year and got more than the people at SAE!

They got rid of them all because every Director was making well over 100k
