It’s graduation season. Our responsibility as leaders is not just to provide opportunities for the next generation of innovators & managers. We must also ensure today’s graduates have training & tools they need to be tomorrow’s leaders. It’s an investment.
After 5 years of repeated hire college kids and fire seasoned professionals its pretty easy to see its one coming. These college kids work for about half the salary of what MH calls "mercenaries." Lets say a conservative estimate of 50k savings for each of the 160... 50,000 x 160 = 8,000,000. That's a savings of 8 million dollars! Rinse and repeat.
But its not a one time savings its year over year. The best place to put these kids? In any position where you have an old coot that makes more than 6 figures. Stick them in a Hub. By real estate and open an apartment complex next door and food court. Now you get these kids to give you a big chunk of the money you paid them right back in your wallet.
Scrooge himself would be proud of this miserly plan. I mean its genius.
Or it... the comments on his tweets are priceless:

Aside from a few young men in Nigeria, Kenya and India begging Mark for a job we have the following response From the CEO of Chopin Airport Development
Replying to @MarkVHurd @Oracle

We have some Koreans complaining about trifling labor law violations:
-
We claim for the right compensation and the balanced salary with new comer as over 95% of Oracle Korea employees hasn't got raised their salary over 10 years.
-
We STRONGLY request Oracle Korea management to follow our Labor Law of Republic of Korea. Some of the staffs were working for 100 hours weekly and not even paid for overtime or weekend. This is ABSOLUTELY breaking our Korea Labor Law.
-
The actions of Pushing and Bundling being forced by Oracle Korea management that is against our internal compliance and impacts also our further business with Oracle Korea customers & partners.
And then we have this post (English as a second language):
Replying to @MarkVHurd
Dear mark, I do not think that all Oracle executives in different countries ,support all your qualified candidates as the same sensivity...
My interpretation is "Your new hire candidates are sub par and Oracle Execs in other countries think this is a stupid move."
But ya know what? F the customer, F the employees. F the other Oracle Execs. MH is the genius here he wears the CEO crown. And F everybody this is now MH's Oracle.
