Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

There is no ideal workplace

Those who leave here tend to excessively criticize this place, while at the same time idealizing the new workplace. The truth is always somewhere in the middle. I do not believe that there are ideal workplaces. It all depends on one's priorities and I believe that many are still here not because they have nowhere to go, but because BOA also has some advantages over its competitors. You can downvote this, but this is the truth.

The ideal workplace for me is my home.

Where I can be productive and also have a nice work/life balance.

There is zero valid reason for us to be working in the office, zero.

If that were the case, why don't we see more "I left the bank and I hate the place I'm working at now" more?

How did bac lay off workers? The typical operation is to divided workers into several groups, like grp1,2,3,4...etc. Group1 let go within a month, group2 let go within 2 months, group4 let go within 4 months, or can stay at last without being laid off depends on buddy buddy circle. Company saved 3 months minimum severance pay required under federal law for massive layoffs. Some folks only got 1 or 2 months severance pay.

I know several coworkers who have left in the past year and are much happier at their new companies. There are plenty of places better to work at than BofA.

If they could cut out all the engagement stuff and just give us what we want (money and flexibility) then yea, it would be a great place to work. But I’m guessing we won’t hear results this year regarding the survey… enough said.

@gqa+1ieVp23N - spot on! This board is definitely being trolled by some agenda-driven sycophant.

@opy+1ieVp23N - true! For many long-timers, we stayed because there USED to be lots to love about this company and its leadership. THAT is what kept us here.

To the Troll - gee, forgive us for missing that. Being told what to do (RTO) like a naughty 2-year old while being forced to "fake-enjoy" pizza and cupcakes (which take time AWAY from doing our actual jobs) is NOT leadership. I pity that you think it is.

There are no ideal workplaces. But there are those who realize that pizza parties are not what make 20-year employees feel appreciated. The problem is....Chase has Dimon. Rock & hard place.
