Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What days is everyone going in?

I think we ALL need to accept our fate and RTO. I also think ALL of us should work, in office, TU/W/TH. Let the "marshalls" walk empty buildings two days a week and over capacity buildings the other three.

Lastly, I hope no one call the local fire department about capacity code violations....

Maybe for your group. Most managers are wanting consecutive days so they don’t have to worry about their employees spending tons of time each day disinfecting everything. It would add up to a lot of time if it’s every other day.

I don't follow, unless you assume they will get the same desk every day, otherwise there would be no difference what days they come in.

They are definitely not staffing at 50%. Our area is 115% filled. We have some of our former remote people sitting in areas that are marked to be filled by others that will not have a 3/2 setup. They were told they will be there all 5 days. Where do our people go then? The floor below us is nearly 200% full, so even with 3/2, every desk will be full. They are sorting out who will sit where and trying to make sure each desk isn't used by multitudes of people.

@1alz+1ehTMwKi If its onsite, its free. If its offsite, they aren't paying for parking anymore so it would come out of your pocket. Nearly all of them will be extremely full.

The word that we're getting is that it'll be an "Alternating Three Two" schedule.

First week for "Group A" is Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The week after that would be Tuesday and Thursday. And so forth.

The first week for "Group B" would be Tuesday and Thursday, and their next week would be Monday, Wednesday and Friday. And so forth.

The intent is to staff the buildings at 50% every day.

@qcx+1ehTMwKi, Parking! OMG. Info is nonexistent, especially given all the changes to prior arrangements. One person on my team was hired during the pandemic and another has been assigned to a different work location vs. before. Both will report to locations with a lot of headcount. Is parking onsite, offsite, paid or free? Shuttle available if some distance away? No one knows because zero info. Way to welcome your workforce back, Wells.

@ixl+1ehTMwKi - Are they actually doing severance packages? I would take one in a minute if that’s an option.

Why is MTG OC allowed to WFH permanently? The disparity is B.S.

@ixl+1ehTMwKi we also had lots of people within 40 miles of full offices working from home, officially, and on any given day the same amount just WFH on "occasion ". There is more than desks to consider. Parking will be one of the first battlegrounds followed by quiet rooms the conference rooms and so on.

Glad you have clarity. This is why I posted the disclaimer that I know some LOBs have already decided this. Not all have and I'm still awaiting my LOBs decision on the matter of set schedules vs flexible schedules.

you people are funny. we've barely gotten rid of any real estate. we've gotten rid of a ton of people. and pre-covid, most everyone had a place to sit. so, if anything we won't have savings in building costs.

in the case that you're over subscribed in one building, you may just have to go to another building. no bueno.

stop you whining, or just please leave. tell your manager you want to be packaged out. like it or not, this is happening.

If everyone does this, they'll just mandate days for each employee to avoid it. WF isn't fvcking around. They will get their desired attrition, but aren't going to like what comes with it.

@vaq+1ehTMwKi I was told we have to set a schedule. I'm sure it's more about making it that more miserable for everyone than it is to address an actual business need.

If my days off aren't allowed to change on a whim, I'll do this. But right now I am still holding out hope that my group will let us pick our days off and remain flexible to change them each week as long as we're in 3 days. If I get that flexibility, my regular days in will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This way if there's a bad accident or storm in the morning, I can in the moment swap that day off and go in Thursday (and if it happens twice in that week, Friday as well.)

Where I live, there is only one road between my town and work. So if there's an accident, there is no choice but to sit in the backup for hours to get to the office. So cross your fingers for me!

(And yes, I realize that some groups already know for their LOB that kind of flexibility won't be allowed, but we all know different LOBs will have differing levels of flexibility around RTO.)

3 + 3 is.... yep. Can't wait to see how they are going to handle the 3rd day when they are double stacking floors.
