@javm

Really? You need an announcement to haul your butt into work?

I truly fear for this hapless generation.

No Participation Trophies for you child. You’ll have to explain that tonight to your helicopter Mom…

If sept 1 is really the start of 4 days in office I would think they would have had to announce it by now, Altho I guess they didn’t give us much notice when ramping up to 3 days of “ collaboration”

“I just received more confirmation: January 2024 is doomsday.”

January 2024 is a month… how can it be doomsday? And why do you have to be in the office all 5 days… shouldn’t it be all month?

Where did you even find this and who sent it out?

Why ban words, @7bvq? Other than certain people seem to redefine them if they don't like the original meanin.

Instead of parroting the political rhetoric of your own echo chambers, try expressing yourselves without using words like woke, privilege, DEI, millennial, etc.

@5slv, they treatment people receive based on equity vs equality is certainly the opposite, but the the outcome is the same. Everyone would be equal and anyone who got ahead would be penalized to make sure everyone is mediocre.
@5uht, perhaps YOU could learn something and quit repeating all the nonsense you hear. Quit playing with words and try using reasoning and logic to see there is no difference. You remind be of all the sheep who can't think and just keep repeating nonsense such as driving is a privilege or we need immigration reform.

Equity and Equality are not the same thing, in fact they are opposites.

You’ve missed a real opportunity to learn something here.

@4yvi, do you really think we didn't know that example you claim is equity? You're the poster boy for woke since you think only you are smart enough to think of something so profound.
Again, it's just a matter of when you consider things are equal. Why did you choose college entry as the starting point to make things equal? The rich kid certainly paid for the sacrifices his parents made to be able to afford to send them to college. How is that unjust? If you just randomly choose when to apply your unfair boosts, it's no different that guaranteeing equal outcome.

Equality: the quality or state of being equal

Equity: something that is fair and just

Here's an example of the difference. Everyone has equal access to a college education, right? But equal access doesn't mean everyone can actually attend college. Barriers exist, the cost of a college education being the biggest.

Would it be fair and just if only students whose families can pay for college get to go to college? No, of course not. That's why we have need-based scholarships for students who show great potential to succeed in college but can't pay for it. This is equity. If scholarships were about equality, it would mean all students would get scholarships or none would get scholarships. Obviously this isn't the case.

In conclusion, equity is the practice of accounting for the differences in each individual’s starting point when pursuing a goal or achievement, and working to remove barriers to equal opportunity.

It's hilarious that the poster(s) crying "millennial!" turn a comment about equality into a constitutional rights argument. The point was that many decision makers (and their lackeys) seem to think ALL staff should be treated equally when it comes to the 5 days in office. What about individual function and varying location of team members? how about a little managers discretion... If your team is slacking, presumably because they're "watching Netflix", then MANAGE them out - it's in your job title/description.

Quit redefining things.
According to Webster...
Equality: the quality or state of being equal

And that's exactly what woksters are pushing with their so-called equity. If things are not equal because of some natural law or perceived advantage, they'll try to make it equal in the name of justice.

@4prz

Child, did they fail to teach you anything about Freedom, equality and America in school? Or was this replaced by socialist participation trophies?

Equality means that everybody is free to follow their dreams, own what they build, work or pay for, and do what they want. Equity, a huge socialist trend in the current Amerika, means that because somebody fails to work the government gives them the reward anyway. Such as trying to forgive all student loans, pay reparations to people who were never slaves, etc.

As you have a bumper sticker mentality, perhaps you can consider this thoughtful bumper sticker:

Free men aren’t equal. Equal men aren’t free.

Con

Equality means that all are created equal equal

Sorry @3fdk, but there is NO difference between equality and equity. You pseudo intellectual ladies like to pretend there is, but there isn't. It's just a matter of when you consider things are equal.
