Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Talking out of both sides of their mouths again

You must have to be bipolar as a prerequisite to get an RD or DM job. Takes special skills to say out of one side of your mouth that its not about coaching to metrics and then to beat the managers down out of the other side of their mouths because their touchless metrics are whatever they are. Those people are doing NOTHING but making the stress of pandemic even worse. It is just a constant numbers beat down all day long. Tip - don't tell your people that coaching that way and then turn around and coach that way - you lose all credibility and are just a lame joke when you do.

So here's the new explanation, this is how they're manipulating the rules. So you have 5 reps and 2 managers, Thats 7correct! So if a family of 4 come too the door and no customers are in the store they will let them in? So you can see how this can deteriorate to a crowd! However, I told the manager the sign doesn't say that it says according to cdc rules only 1 customer to 1 rep, not 4 customers to 1 rep! Its incredible. Like the rep says below, the plastic pos shield is only made for one to one .obviously this is manipulation because of the survey! Yes 2 sides of their mouths! I give them credit they are creative and don't care for employee surveys

My store is not adhered too the 1 to 1 rep ratio stated on the sign on the door. I asked the store manager about this and he said the store capacity is 20.Again I said if we have 5 reps 2 managers that means we shouldn't have more 14 people in the store at one time. Thus. This has to be filtered down from at least the Dm(who's sitting at home) Some suggestions for you when crowding takes place and you're helping a family of 3( thats a 3 to 1 ratio the new verizon math by mgmt will tell you its 1 to 1) is start using your phone camera as proof then call the employee confidential line, also just walk away take the manager off the floor and tell them how you feel get their reaction then call HR, lastly I believe this will never happen all reps walk to the back till they get the store 1to 1. The stores are not the size of Walmart or targets to have this cavalier attitude by management when there a sign on the door!(I suspect anyone in Corp knows or cares whats happening thus care about you safety!

Why do you have more than one person in the store? It’s a one to one nation wide

@1ata+16jXfgPx No I think what the person meant is there is just one plastic shield between us and the 3-4 family members we are helping at one time. So yeah the one shield defeats the whole purpose. I have personally called out the managers for deviating from the company mandated 1-1 ratio guidelines but they ignore my concerns.

Sorry to say.like I predicted! The non measurable safety protocol is not being followed by Store managers every day. Since the term" be human "has filters down from the higher echelon to the stay at home Directors and Dm s without any instruction on what or how that should be implemented at the location. Now they are telling managers to make decisions by circumstances not by safety. Let me explain some things that are happening in my Northern NJ store right now. A sign posted at the door stating we are helping customers on a 1 to 1 ratio per rep( 4 to 6 reps per day) so according to the sign we really should have 6 customers in the store! But. They count themselves in the mix 2 or3 managers (that don't help customers directly just delegating and greeting at the door) thus store capacity rose to nine. Then the store managers said our capacity is 18( how they got that number?)so they've been letting families 3 or 4 at a time ! Also. With one protected shielded work stations? So you know what happened at one point we had a total of 20 people in the store so were did the 1 to 1 ratio as stated on the Verizon printed sign on the door? Go. yes.out the door! We have a sin outside the door stating please wait till we can attend you, with 3 managers. People are still just walking in haphazardly. We were told since June not to handle customers phones. Thats changed ( to be human) yes we have gloves but the screen is 5 inches and even if we tell them what to do you have to disregard the 6 foot distancing rule for safety(sorry Dr Fauci and Governor Murphy not in Verizon stores)The touchless retail can be micromanaged these others things cannot. The surveys are controlling the decisions of store management to the detriment of safety!Lastly, in regard to team selling.the "heavy hitter* left in the store is hanging out more in the back room than at the door like he used too. I guess he see whats happening? 2 sides of managers mouths that an understatement. More store will close because of spikes if they dont get these people on 1 page!

Sitting at home extolling numbers, instead of safety. That’s our “leaders”

Yeah, there has to be a better chain of command structure than this because these current DMs and RDs do not add any value to anything. Ever. They're just good for just kissing babies, ripping on employees for what they think is having fun but isn't, kissing up to superiors for their next promotion to superiors in social media, and beating down store managers for sales and now touch less metrics.
We've had some good ones in years past but these guys are just a representation of Verizon2.BLOWS. Zero quality

They say it's for employee safety but managers would rather have us try the order 5 times over while the customer waits forever. I'd rather have them out in the 3 minutes an order should take, touch a credit card, and go wash my hands.

Verizon 2.0 (but we can’t tell you what that even means). Now OneVerizon, it’s always the same in the end. The leadership will want the numbers because the DM/RD want to be #1. The supposed culture shift Verizon is attempting won’t work because the leadership will not change their mentality. They’ve contradicted themselves for years and it appears that hasn’t changed.
