Thank you for Friday 1708 OP. You made Friday interesting. And you put a smile on our faces knowing they were scrambling to take it down. If there was a Layoff Hall of Fame you’d be the first inductee.

Slack filtering by Account type is still there.
1708King to EpochPrincess: Best teamwork I ever had at Nike - didnt even have to have a meeting for it! Hope you made/make it thru!! I wonder if we know each other!?
They removed the option in slack to filter by account type... LOL
@1vva+1r9qsfOk Outlook updates are not happening that quick... Profiles from people that were let go yesterday are still active without a hint but are gone from Slack already
First of all, nobody is going to get fired for searching keywords in Slack. That was a troll post, 100%.
Second, this information is still available to you. You can look up anyone's email in different tools. Slack is just one. You can search for email address lists in Outlook.
They update the email address when deactivating the account and anyone can search for this information.
Read The Telltale thread @1axw+1r9qsfOk
What is 1708 referring to? I heard something about the slack thing today but missed it entirely before they closed the loop hole. I still don’t understand. Anyone care to explain?
"BA--S" said the queen, "if i had two, i'd be KING"
@mug+1r9qsfOk lol! Such a troll. OK we had a meeting today and our VP and Sr director were telling how genius it was and they actually searched the code and it worked! 😆 Are you gonna fire all the 10000 people who looked it up? Please do! Sc-m bag
@mug bring it on. Would love to hear more about Nike's negligence in failing to secure sensitive information or perhaps their breach of confidentiality.
One more thing you can do is to search for the leader's profile in Slack and then click on the department or organization. This will allow you to filter out deactivated members in that particular department and see how many people are affected. However, there is no way to determine when they were deactivated, but at least you will know that their profiles are no longer active.
I'm sure you're just another loser troll, but good luck trying to fire me @mug+1r9qsfOk... I'm searching users in Slack... not PAYROLL! You'll be in my lawsuit.
Oh ok. So now there going to layoff the 10,0000 of us that tried it. Yah right.
Remember you are searching as a logged in user and we will be able to track you based on the filters you are using!!
Already monitoring. Just a matter of time to share the data with legal and employee relations and then take an action.
In Slack if you search for someone they will show ‘deactivated’. I do not know how long after but I do see folks from today at the Sr Dir level as well as some of the VP from Friday.
Part of me is wondering if checking that info is going to come back to get me. The other part of me isn’t, as who has time to go thru slack logs when it’s really someone in HRs fault. Either way, your welcome for the Epoch time stamp tip.
I see a lot of people away in Slack, are these folks the new 1708? Can anyone check to see if they know someone who is laid off and has that status?
Someone mentioned another way... Pleaseeee share :)
btw - I only figured the stamps existence out. The Epoch clue came from somebody else! Yeah it was fun that post got over 10k views now - I gone viral!!
haha!! Thank you guys!! Hope most of you make it thru. I made my peace with it and am moving on!
Is this function now off?
@bmi+1r9qsfOk This is precisely the problem with Nike. They have incredible talent at the company or are ready to work, but the leadership is so incompetent & doesn't know how to leverage these. I have often raised this concern with the leadership, but I was always pushed back. In the past few months, I have just been working on stuff that my leadership wants to see, which is totally useless.
Technically there should be two inductees... first the King (or Queen!) who figured out that there was a number in the email address, and then the Prince / Princess who quickly sleuthed out that our crack HR colleagues (the Jokers!) had so cleverly (or so they thought) used an epoch timestamp to mask the deactivation time for our accounts as they kick us to the curb. Ironic that their names are not on the list... they should be.
As op I stand corrected……could easily be 1708 Queen as well. Thank you for that. :)
Yes! Whoever put the 1708 post there, God bless you! You made an awful situation hilarious and you made them look stupid for not being able to figure this on their own. Thank you! You also showed us how clueless is HR or whoever is the consultant behind this mess
It was most likely a 1708 QUEEN!
Funny to know that they have someone on their play roll dedicated to monitor this site just so they can cover their own mistakes!
Nike has talent. They just don’t know how to find them and leverage them!
