When I try to connect in Teams and it tells me It can’t connect right now, I use a ctrl-alt-delete to open Task Manager, k-ll teams, and then reopen the meeting. Connection works after that. Often happens first meeting after I reconnect or extend my remote session, but makes me late to meetings if I forget to restart Teams before hand.
This may be the most useful response/advice I've ever received from tech since I started with the company. Thanks for posting and please don't leave WF, the company needs more people like you!

This is true. Skype, Zoom, and Teams compete for resources.
Whenever you extend or reconnect to VPN you should completely exit Teams and Zoom and restart them first before clicking on a link for a meeting.
And do not leave your computer running or in sleep mode when traveling between sites, but that’s common knowledge.

I hate teams, but here's a tip. If you have a team's meeting coming up and in order for it to work properly, most of the time, you must exit skype first. Not just close skype but exit or log off it so it's no longer in the sys tray. The opposite holds true as well. Skye meeting, logout of Teams first.
I would do everything in my power to not go to that campus.
It has to do with the authentication and security of the new platform versus the old one. Different methods of using them. Teams is gimped right now because we have to workaround Skype. They are not meant to be running side by side at all. Once Skype goes away it will be a smoother app to use, but I can safely say that most teams issues are client side not server side.
If Teams doesn’t work when clicking Join Meeting, it typically means the install didn’t work properly.
Submit an Incident ticket and have it re-installed. That fixed it for me, and the techs are aware of the issue.

Not even sure what that means. All I can say is that when I click on 'join meeting's Skype works 100% of the time, and Teams doesn't. It's not like there's options here. It's just "Join" or not...and clicking on "join" sits there for about 30 seconds and then you get "teams can't connect, try again later". It happens all the time and I don't see how it could be operator error when they don't let us do anything useful with the hardware/software anyway.
The meeting turned out to be all about how to keep yourself safe at the office. They emphasized all of the security guards on site, talked about how not to be a victim of a car break in, stay off your phone while walking so you are aware of your surroundings, what to do in the event of protesters, and how to run or hide from threats. How many other offices had to have such a presentation because they are in a high risk area? Of course, they constantly reassured us they hadn't had any problems on site. Gee, I feel so confident about going in now!
Regulated users not allowed to use Teams. They should have known that.
Zoom is a huge customer of the commercial bank…. I’d much rather use zoom than teams… cb leadership supports it

So why is some management still insisting on ZOOM? Guess they didn't get the memo.

It works every time if you understand how to use it. It is every bit as stable as Skype. It has to jump through hoops, and if things aren't kosher on your end then you see issues.

Teams is bloated AF.
Teams is a POS that works about 80% of the time you try to connect to a meeting. Not ready for prime time by any stretch. So yeah, when that super important meeting comes along, guess what isn't working? Like most new software / systems at wf, it's a downgrade.
Teams is on a deployment schedule so it’s very unlikely anyone who doesn’t have Teams can do anything to adjust when they are getting it installed. But hey, knock yourselves out and submit Service Requests for it and see what happens.

Those people should be requesting Teams access immediately then. Skype doesn't have much shelf life left and over half the bank is using Teams daily now.
They scheduled the call via Teams. Half the attendees had to call in because they don't have Teams. Regardless, it didn't matter because all anybody could hear was beeps for people coming and going. The audio from the actual meeting never came through and everybody finally disconnected after 15 minutes. They seem to think it is going to be better at 2 pm. It was nothing but a disaster and huge waste of time.
