Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Layoff’s Today?

I received a mandatory team meeting invite without one of my teammates added to the call. This person is my mentor and am worried as he is not answering the phone or calling me back. Has anyone else been affected in Wireline today?

@2chy+1v9ZYVtu the answer to that depends on

  1. you were eligible for VSP and declined to volunteer - standard package
  2. you were eligible for VSP, volunteered and were rejected - enhanced package
  3. you were not eligible for VSP - enhanced package

@1bns, or, maybe, 'cause the OP hated the thought of unionizing, and possessing an ability to feel, for once, to feel relatively safe in her/his position at 22 years of dedicated service and able to sleep at night without dreadful thoughts of that next RIF?

To @4dny+1v9ZYVtu

My first step was to enroll in unemployment in my state. Your next call should be to your HR rep who will be able to answer most questions re: insurance, 401K, etc. Lastly, update your resume and LinkedIn profile to show open for work. Good luck!

Hey I was one of the impacted at VCG. I got the standard severance package over here. I don't know if this is the forum to ask, but this is my first time getting laid off as this was my first job out of college. Just wondering if you guys have any wisdom to share in terms of what my next steps should be. I am thankful for any advice y'all can give.

Did the impacted get VSP or the standard package? I was curious if they'd really stick to their g-ns per the FAQ. The "take this or else"

Tech dev is and was always a joke. Nothing ever came out of that group for years. When Nikki Plumer had it. It was a joke. Then various a-s kissers became VPs with fake bs that they were working on. You all know who they are. They should nuke the whole department. It’s a joke.

@1joz+1v9ZYVtu , if you do not know what TPD is, then you do not work at Verizon.

Call center representatives must go. There unwilling to RTO , which there we’re hired to do. Plus most of there work has been outsourced.

RIf’s at Verizon Connect yesterday and today. They closed the entire New Zealand office, and a lot of GCS employees. This new executive leadership is a disaster. Erin Siemens is in way over her head.
