So what do you think will happen if we just stay home and continue working? Don't really think they'll fire us all.
But will only work if no one shows up on the 14th.

Easy way to cut the fat. Mandate return to work for Tuesday to Thursday. You don’t show up you’re fired. Then once those are removed we relax the in office schedule for any positions that can work remotely.
Man so we got mass down vote guy (probably a red.neck based on the downvotes) and we got butthurt deadwood guy. Any other interesting people on this channel?
Apparently the mass downvote guy is hitting this thread pretty hard.
Meh, I hate the office and most of the people in it so the last two years have been great. But I’m not going to get bent out of shape on having to go back either. As long as they understand no work will get done before 8 or after 5 unlike what I was willing to do while WFH then we’re cool.
@1hkl “Disobeying a direct order…”
Are you f’n serious? You’re managing a bunch of burned-out middle-age office workers, not leading a Ranger platoon on a heliborne raid to take down an HVT. Lighten-up guy.
“ You won't get fired, right away, you won't get promoted either”… exactly how it works. Then the next layoff you’re not selected for any positions. What’s the big deal anyway. I am triple vac and hang out in the bars several times a week anyway.
I know exactly what will happen! I urge you to try it. We have folks on our team that take calls with international BU's at all times, and they have already said they will be flexible. If you don't have those situations and just plan to stay home because you are a rebel, you'll be top of mind when management has people discussions, you know, when they talk about promotions and such. You won't get fired, right away, you won't get promoted either.
no one on my team is going in for at least 2 weeks after rtw. we r split between sr and hou anyway, so all of our meetings are on Teams anyway. our manager trusts us to use our good judgment on when it makes more sense to come in or stay home. that’s the way it should be
@1bnw+1f88cR3X cool flex brah...someone has missed their in person power trips for two years lol
@1ebe+1f88cR3X *Correction return to the office not return to work. If no one was working from home we wouldn't have had the results we did and the company would have failed in the past two years. Return to the office is not needed or wanted by most.
I am bringing Voodoo Donuts for the ho-e team! Great to finally be back working.
Any one that works for me that doesn’t get back will be on notice- gross misconduct - you don’t disobey your supervisor
Reading the internal comments everyone knows at least 3 people that won’t last long
Disobeying a direct order from your boss can get you fired quickly. In this case it is called “abandoning your job post”, according to the HR handbook. I have seen people do it and get hauled in by HR and threatened with instant termination and no benefits.
“So what do you think will happen if we just stay home and continue working? “
This will never happen.
This would be similar to striking for better working conditions. That requires solidarity, and America doesn’t do that anymore.
My guess is that the people who refuse to show up will be terminated from employment. If you want to WFH, just tell them you don’t feel well.
I'm just going to wait to see how long it takes for my boss to even notice I'm not there. Hopefully I'll have a new job working remotely by the time they do and that'll be that. An archaic business with archaic beliefs.
Gtfoh hybrid is already permanent with the 9/80. @eyc+1f88cR3X
Only about half of my team plans on going into the office on 2/15. My manager is making it completely optional for at least these first few months.
Those all angry about people not wanting to waste time heading up into the office just calm down, grab some Busch, a cigar, your lawn chair and open your garage door and watch the cars go by. That will make things better!
I dun told you git on out of here and don't you come back, ya hear!
The honest thing is just talk to your supervisor about how you have someone in your family immunocomoromised and they will let you wfh. They are not gonna be able to check due to HIPPA
San Ramon gets to stay at home.
Don’t return….period!
How about 9/80 and wfh. Working in the office is not needed. We had record profits working from home.
remove 9/80 and give us permanent hybrid work schedule
If you want to stay home indefinitely, do so. Just quit! If not, follow directions. 😃
I also will not be returning to the office. Those days are done.
OP are you in 3rd grade?
Sounds good to me....don't go in and we won't be there either....we promise, lol! How dare a corporation require people to go to work!
Shut up whining and get back to the office
I know I am not returning to the office on February 15th.
Thought we were doing a hybrid schedule with Tues-Thurs in office, so RTW would be Feb 15 not Feb 14. If that had changed, did not get the memo.
If your boss is okay with you not showing up, nothing will happen. If they’re not okay with it, I guess good luck finding your future job and living off of unemployment.
@cdy without management you wouldn't have a job. You should be grateful that you've been given the privilege of working at Chevron. If you don't want to support management, feel free to leave.
Amazing how many people support management over average joes needs. I'll never get it. You'll never be a rich scumbag like MW so why keep protecting them?
I say we protest RTW by refusing to take our paychecks.
Who's with me?
If you do that, you should be fired. It's called insubordination. People seem to have forgotten that regardless of what you "want", there is an employer/employee relationship.
