Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

So the plan is to keep us in suspense until we all break down or what?

What’s the point? How about they show, for once, a modicum of some respect and let us know what is going on with layoffs. I’m tired of being treated like an equal to a chair I sit on in the office. We all have lives to live, bills to pay, jobs to search for, all kinds of plans, so it would be nice of this mediocre bank not to make our lives all about layoffs for weeks on end.

I'm sure you'll hear, "It's not personal. It's business." Good luck to all who are going thru this mess. You deserve better.

I relate to your frustration at not knowing if you’re “safe”. But job loss is not a subject they can hint about. Can you imagine if they hinted at layoffs while they figured out specifically who? This page and every other channel would blow up. This is life at USB now. We live in insecurity. If you can’t stomach it, take control of your destiny.

Yes speak out! However, layoffs have consistently happening this time of year for many years. The stress has always been there. Every year, I think I may get laid off and I am still here. Stressful yes, but I can’t be a good, husband, parent, co- worker, etc if I am constantly worried about the unknown, year after year, after year. I should have found a different job when the jobs were available a long time ago. But, in my line of work layoffs are a big deal everywhere. My wife works at a competitor and she could get laid off any day too. It is hard to not be stressed about it, but we try to save money, stay focused on our kids and enjoy our free time. There is nothing I can do to prevent a layoff, so I try to be prepared EVERY year for the last ten years.

I feel like all the negative comments are from more than likely high ups and their puppets they have monitoring the page-talking all the trash.

FYI Mental Stability is highly important --go ahead and speak out EVERYONE has at least felt this since 2022 when the layoff first began.

Until “we” all break down?

Speak for your own level of mental stability, don’t presume to speak for everyone

Corporate bootlicker.

Just here to gather intelligence (or sometimes lack thereof, based on the comments). It’s always the same whiners, spouting off the same complaints. The grammar and diction are consistent. Best of luck to everyone in their careers. Be good!

Why are you on a site about layoffs to whine about people talking about...layoffs? This is not an airport. You do not have to announce your departure or arrival. You are free to fu-k off.

You’re a gimp douche. Get back under Elfio’s desk.

Seriously? Glass half empty and miserable….just leave. There’s no golden parachute for you. Take the bad attitude elsewhere. I feel horrible for anyone that is laid off, but the sheer whining on this site is brutal. You work for a corporation that pays you to work. You have responsibilities in exchange for the pay and benefits you receive, but you are and always will be an at will employee. Jobs and workloads change, as does everything in the world. There is no “contract” or “agreement” that you have with the company that is always and forever. You are not special. Take control of your destiny. Nobody is going to cater to your every wish and demand. The one thing you are in 100% control of is your own attitude. Simple career advice

For many, many years layoffs have happened this time of year. Sometimes in October, sometimes in November. It’s as inevitable as death and taxes. Maybe there will more than usual this year, maybe not.
