Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

THE TRUTH - PAY ATTENTION SHAREHOLDERS

Layoff’s will continue through October. 10/3 will be similar to this last round.

Let’s talk facts! Since Q4 2022 there have been 37, 000+ US Domestic Full Time Employees displaced(offshored). HOWEVER, they strategically control the headcount reduction number by using their offshored teams to offset the layoff numbers coincided with a layoff notice period to avoid the WARN act.

Fact is; For every 1 US domestic employee displaced(laid off), they hire 2-3 offshore workers from India, Philippians, Manilla…. If this company didn’t have dinosaur leaders, they would realize offshoring creates risk. I though “The Firm” was ”laser focused” on mitigating risk, and implementing an effective “risk and control framework”. How does offshoring risk and control employees to 3rd world countries accomplish this? I guess sharts idea of being “laser focused” is offshoring the US workforce, and continues to accrue billions in fines! The schart-stain and his cronies are full off hot air and have defaulted back to the 1980’s playbook.

If “The Firm” didn’t have such dinosaurs running it the asset cap would have been lifted years ago. For example, instead of laying off full time US workers, how about letting the US Domestic employees utilize AI Tools or even AI assistants like “Microsoft Co-Pilot” which would provide an employee the ability to streamline their work and ACTUALLY IMPROVE EFFICIENCIES. INSTEAD, you have this skid-stain leader firing US Domestic workers for cheap offshore labor (you get what you pay for and all the risk that comes with that hence the systems crashing on a monthly basis). The efficiency metric is flawed by these 1980’s playbook tactics. The shart-stain thinks everyone is beneath him, and recently popped up from hiding so he could have something to speak about during the earning call such as; “how he has cut costs and is making progress on The Firms multi-year effort to strengthen the risk and control space aka offshore and expand The Firms Risk appetite” when in fact it is all a bunch of BS short term vision nonsense. HOW IS OFFSHORING US DOMESTIC JOBS TO third world. Countries reduce “The Firms” overall Risk???? Anyone???

Shart-Stain is prepping to leave the bank with a nice payout. Meanwhile “The Firm” is way worse off than it was before he was hired 4+ years ago! I hope shareholders actually ask intelligent questions during the earnings call. For example; what is wells fargo’s long term strategy? Do you have a vision or milestone? How far along is “The Firm” on its transformation? Or maybe asking the dinosaur what he has actually accomplished besides accruing more multi-billion dollar fines and laying off US workers along with cutting their benefits? And lastly, why is your salary $24.5 million a year? Can you provide an few examples that justifies this amount? Shart-stain is a chump! Karma will get ya in the end!

100% spot on.

India has a huge issue going on that demonstrates a clear LACK of integrity across numerous Indian employees. This is not a one-off employee situation. Most in the US will never hear about it because only India is allowed to address this issue while they figure out all of the bad actors involved. Not pretty and not limited to 1 person. Meanwhile, the US keeps on sending jobs and important roles there. Unbelievable. Regulators are completely asleep at the wheel.

Yes, the "just like other financial institutions" replies has to be one of the most short sighted comments. We are not. WF's reputation is awful and unfortunately, deservedly so.

OP don’t you get tired of writing this drivel and then spending hours replying and upvoting yourself

OP does have a point. All I see are mainly trolls in the replies. What I don’t see is any of these trolls actually, addressing the OP’s question regarding “what has the CEO actually accomplished”? Not one troll can say, or has said what this CEO has accomplished over the past four years! I don’t see anyone saying how the CEO’s salary can be justifiable based on his performance which has been nothing but more fines, an additional scandals. Any other employee would have been fired years ago!

All you small brains are forgetting one thing when you are trying to compare Wells Fargo to other financial institutions. No other financial institution has been forced to operate under an asset cap! Furthermore, no financial institution has taken this long to resolve any of regulatory matters. So, why are you comparing Wells Fargo to other financial institutions when in fact, it is nothing like any other financial institution!

You investors/shareholders (employees aside) must be the d-mbest investors on the planet to continue to back the CEO of this sinking ship. If offshore is so great, why are articles showing up saying that a Wells Fargo executive in India was peeing on a woman who was sleeping on an airplane? That’s just weird!

Seems like OP actually does have a point, and most of the responses here are just trolls aka the CEO’s minions. How about you d-mb trolls answer the OP question because I sure as heck would like to know how anyone can continue to support this failing CEO after four years of no progress, coinciding with a pending lawsuit of misleading shareholders.

You have all just proved the OP’s point that you know nothing of the benefits of technology and the efficiencies that come with it. Instead you back the “1980s playbook” as the OP says, and looks to offshore as a solution to cut costs. Other companies may have been doing this for decades, however, that was before there was technology that allows a single employee to be more efficient and effective as three offshored employees.

Based on some of the quarterly earnings calls, it seems this company would do better an AI CEO versus the current one. For one it wouldn’t cost 24 1/2 million dollars a year.

SO CALLING ALL TROLLS, HOW ABOUT YOU ACTUALLY ANSWER THE OP’S QUESTIONS REGARDING WHAT THE CEO HAS ACTUALLY ACCOMPLISHED? CAN ANYONE EVEN SAY HE HAS REACHED A MILESTONE? I’m all ears, so speak why you back this CEO and answer the OP’s question? As shareholders you all should be PO Ed, because the stock price has never been so low on a consistent basis since this guy took the helm over four years ago!

You all just prove the OP point since not one troll can answer the OP questions for forth nor does anyone have a rebuttal, except threats, insults and cheering that Americans are getting laid off. I hope you all enjoy your continued investment in a company that isn’t even allowed to grow by law!

Seems pretty par for the course based on the CEO and his “yes men” cronies that the non-troll posts speak of. The CEOs team of damage control trolls have just created more damage. Typical.

October is not even close to the end of layoffs here. Might be a bunch then, but 2024 will have more layoffs and offshoring than 2023. Chainsaw is just getting started.

Ha, you clearly know nothing about this and are only speaking your opinion. There were reg matters and subsequent requirements because of offshoring. Why do you think special oversight exists at WF for the roles shipped to India? For fun - no.

You can't even get your insane generalizations correct. No c-vid injections or boosters here. Some of us have critical thinking skills and are able to see beyond the smoke and mirrors and what we are 'told' we must do.

Actually, regulators DO have concerns about offshoring processes to India. In fact, we've had to have specific requirements and additional oversight of the offshored processes because of that VERY reason. WF is playing a game of chance right now with the type of higher level and decision making roles they are sending overseas. This will invariably come back to bite WF in the ar-e in a few years. Unfortunately, the damage will be done to many US employees in the meantime.

I know there are many others ways to save money….

Sure you do. LOL

And no matter what BS you and the “executive team” try to sell about the unique skill set from India….

you must also know what to look for when looking for another job right? Do it and let us know how it goes.

You must work in that “global” group that pushes every business to get to their assigned “goal” of how many jobs they need to send to India.

Get lost. Also a shareholder - I know there are many others ways to save money. And no matter what BS you and the “executive team” try to sell about the unique skill set from India, we ALL know it’s ONLY about the dollar.

Positively contributing to the US economy by keeping US jobs IN the US should come first!

Of course the glib troll who gets his pa-ties in a twist about the term “the firm”, also believes the 10/3 rumor, and is somehow under the impression that shareholders won’t like reduced costs LOL

It’s not 1990: you are the only person who seems to have just discovered outsourcing. It has a proven track record and neither regulators nor shareholders share your paranoia about the perceived risks.

Quit turning this forum into your personal reactionary soapbox.

In banking, it is common that upto 40% of the workforce is offshore. This includes all jobs across the board including Risk Management, Finance, Marketing, etc. It is not just operations roles. Wake up people. This is the real world. WF is so stuck in the past and need to catch up to become competitive with their peer group. As a shareholder, it should be demanded.
