Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Reporter Inquiry regarding BNY Mellon's Pershing division Layoffs

Good Afternoon,

My name is Rachel Dalloo and I am a Reporter with Financial Advisor IQ at the Financial Times. I am reaching out to see if there is anyone who was recently laid off from BNY's Pershing and its practice management consulting team, who is willing to speak with me about the layoffs within that division.

I would like to learn more about how many were affected because of the layoffs and if more are expected.

If you are willing to speak with me, I can be reached via email at rdalloo@money-media.com and by cell at 646-392-5066.

Thank You.

@2eas

Old news. PIP fails no longer get a package. After a generous year of no course correction, PIP fails already had their package and more. Their coworkers deserve their money for picking up the slack.

What I said was that no real reporter could possibly write such an incoherent sentence, such as “I have reported on NUMEROUS OF STORIES, where I have protected my sources.”.

I’ll concede that she may well be a journalism graduate from University of Phoenix.

Pershing is a primitive 1980s brokerage which Suresh started in India and somehow convinced Management that it was gods gift to man and they acquired it in the Karen Peetz (the most important woman in Banking) era.

It wasn’t, and Suresh was only good at self Marketing. E*Trade was started just after Suresh and suddenly every Tom Di-k and Harry had a better brokerage.

Hello, it's Rachel again. Just for clarification, I am looking to speak with individuals who were laid off from BNY Pershing, NOT the great BNY Mellon layoffs. My story is focusing on the firm's wealth unit.

Thank You.

She gave her name, email and phone number. You can google her. She works for Money Media which is owned by the Financial Times. Not sure why you don’t believe her. Many journalists are willing to protect their sources in order to get the story. I already reached out to her so I can confirm she is who she says she is.

@1vpa No journalist would write “I have reported on numerous of stories, where I have protected my sources.”.

Rachel is no journalist. Who are you really and why are you here?

I suspect that Rachel is looking for coherent feedback. So much for our supposed adults here.

Rachel, so sorry that you’re being subject to boorish behavior here from some of our more toxic employees. Hopefully somebody will help.

For the record employees are displaced only because they are refusing to return to the office and violating their contract. After two years of COVID work at home they have an unending sense of entitlement.

If you check, it’s mainly employees of a certain age and or individuals not in the circle of JPM and GS. Hopefully a lawsuit comes out to show the true colors

Same, but this BNY is terrible company that doesn’t care about its US employees! My position is going to India. Our crooked American politicians should start paying close attention to us average Americans and put us before corporations! Tax corporations that layoff Americans and offshore their jobs to the max! Tax the MFs!

I also got laid off on 6/12/24 their layoffs portal is not working. I tried to contact them by emails but no response. They don’t think that people who they let go need support to see all documents of layoffs. It’s frustrating. Any one has same issue?

You should also ask about the PIP program to avoid paying severance.

For those who were let go by Pershing and wish to speak to Rachel, please check your separation documents regarding forfeiture of SUB, etc. It might be possible that if your identity is released, you could lose lay off benefits.

Hey Rachel, what are you hearing in the media about the REAL reason for the name change? Is there a lawsuit? Is it because the # of years ended that we promised to keep the Mellon name? What’s the real scoop on why we’d be paying a fortune to change our name, in an era where we’re laying off tons of people in non-growth center locations for our ‘location strategy’? What’s the real scoop out there for people that aren’t caught up in this daily?

It’s frequent and constant but in smaller numbers likely to avoid press and legal enquiries. The env is/was awful and many on the verge of breakdown. Employees across the org are super unproductive I suspect. The company has made good profits so only reason for layoffs is to bring their own people into Per. People being displaced to satisfy egos and no other reason. let go last week.

can you share a link to the piece in the tribune last week? i am based in SF and lost my job last wed. 6/12/24. no warning. meeting at 9 am PST, 6/12/24. Was informed that my position was being eliminated. And that my system access would be cut off after the meeting. didn't have a chance to say goodbye to my colleagues that I've worked with for 19 years. just like that, it ended.

The firings are constant. The company is despicable and has zero ethics.

The fluff piece in the tribune review last week about the name Change was pathetic… No follow up as to why they’re keeping the mellon name on the Grant Street building… It’s because we’re moving out of there, but of course the reporter didn’t ask….
