Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

Horrible managemnet, useless HR

I'm not even sure where to start with how awful some middle and senior managers are at this place. They are disrespectful and verbally abusive, most of the time their yelling can be heard through several walls. They are dismissive of everything we bring up no matter how useful the idea might be. Don't even get me started on complaints - if you dare to complain about anything, that is.

And those of us who turned to HR about this problem have quickly learned that being quiet would have been a preferable option. We've learned that HR is here to protect the company and make sure our lives are miserable enough to withdraw whatever complaint we might have made.

Basically, most managers rule by fear and are helped by HR in that. No wonder morale is hitting an all time low...

Wrong @1efrb+138MvVbf, it is a deep rooted part of IT culture. It is not one person talking about it either. Look at all the Andy Zolper and Todd Ferguson comments. All consistent over years and years of comments. That is why Andy Zolper and Todd Ferguso have a high turnover rate.

that's not entirely true... Yelling isn't part of the culture at RJ and that's not at all the reality over there. HR complaints are heard if you file them and appropriate measurements are usually taken against management, if need be. I've been working at RJ for many years and this open door culture and mutual respect amongst employees and/or management is what keeps me there. Not fair to generalize what happens in one department, with one person, for the entire company.

Correct. HR is there to limit liability, it is not there as an employee tool.
