IBM CEO Arvind Krishna: 10 Boldest Statements From CRN’s Exclusive Interview

The goal, Krishna said, is for IBM to double its revenue with partners over the next three to five
years. “I want our partners to be the best at establishing a hybrid architecture at our clients and
establishing an AI footprint at our clients,” he said.

Pay close attention.

Amazing how much credit AK gets for having a "plan". I have a "plan" to win the lottery, so does someone want to interview me? Credit is due when you have a "success" and IBM is long in want of one.

"You obviously have never had to fly US Air/American IBM and Delta’s relationship goes back at least 20 years I very much doubt they are rip and replacing the mainframe applications, but rather just putting a new front end on them"

If Delta has ever been your client, you'd know their IT department hasn't always been the sharpest. And it hasn't always been plane (!!) sailing between the two companies, to the point of being in the gutter at times.

Digital is still gorging from the trough. Beyond a doubt, one of the top 3 resource s—s at IBM. Mainly because the close tie with the Summit program. It's like a two way umbilical cord. Hope it chokes them both soon.

Yes, they tried this in 2015. Lost a ton of revenue. Moved it back. Built the digital business group. that crashed and was dismantled. It’s been one failure after another due to lack of long term investment and commitment.

AK would be better to use the term “partnership” instead of channel. IBM is picking the top ISV’s who have invested in LINUX modernization, and partnering via GBS. There is no free lunch on this, and the smaller ISV’s which services OS/400 and AIX legacy apps are getting phased out at a rapid pace as they are not large enough to generate the required revenue and IBM has not shown them a viable Cloud alternative.

But AK is assuming that the clients are totally ignorant and will follow what IBM & it's partners are proposing. IBM cloud technology is no match with AWS, Azure and Google in every aspect. Unless there is a kickback scheme going on, it always amazing to see how they sell their inferior products to reputed customers (as an example, Delta airlines awarded their cloud migration to IBM, why? Who is Delta's current CEO? May be difficult to prove in a court, but it seems quite obvious what's going on)

What about the conflict of multiple partners competing for the same business, driving down their margins to compete with little else to differentiate themselves other than price since the solutions will be the same. The net effect will be to compete with an alternate solution sourced through a competitive vendor that likely offers more margin.
I don't see a quantum increase in revenue for IBM

Pour a drink. Here's the LONG interview that's referenced by the OP:

so looks like they want channels to go forward, but they tried this in 2015 after 6 months nothing happened. Its like the philosophy is just going in circles

Can anyone explain the difference between expert labs and garage?

by

Post ID: @1yjj+19yMogfj

Expert Labs is on its way out... give it a year... AK stated many times he doesn’t like Expert Labs, he likes the Garage folks.

He is an id–t in my book!

IBMers in Services... we are all toast... especially if you are in Lab Services or Expert Labs as it is called nowadays. AK hates Expert Labs and he will gladly get rid of it...
