Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Take Care of Yourself

Many are putting off some underlying physical or mental health condition. Out of loyalty to the company or not making it a personal priority. It is time to take care of yourself. The big wigs are forcing us back in regardless of Delta. They miss the micro management of being in office. They won’t mandate vaccines, so some of us will certainly be exposed to COVID and take it home to our families.

Time to get that surgery you have been putting off. Many of us have conditions that would get approved by ADA for working at home too. It will be hard for them to prove it is not a reasonable accommodation when it has been successful almost a year and a half. And with the Democrats in charge they will have a hard time defending any denials.

Take care of yourself and come back in 3-6 months when COVID trends should look much better. State Farm prioritizes the company above all else. Nobody will prioritize you unless you do it.

Rapid testing accuracy reported from 3 major studies ranged from 86% to 98% accurate-hardly a coin flip. They will run you somewhere between $20-$40 a week. The unvaccinated surcharge for group med will be significant.

People chose to do what they feel they need.
No one asks for you to prove measles vaccine. No one make you get the Flu shot..
Not much is done about that when you all go to work with it and share it with your neighbor. Getting the vaccine will not stop this virus. It's not a disease. Everyone has their own feelings on it...but that all is the truth.
Making us test wont prove or help either.
Rapid testing is only about 50 percent accurate. So might as well flip a coin and decide if you have it. All the testing does is skew the numbers. How many have been told after to negative test..well you "still have symptoms so let's say you have covid"?
Why not test for other things like the flu, strep or sinus infections.
Why is everything all covid no matter what??
Fear mongering at its finest

The facts are the hospitals are overwhelmed. Covid is spreading in schools. It is not a minor event for vaccininated, many are getting pretty sick and they can and are passing it on to others.

Yes vaccinated people can still catch and spread Covid-although at a substantially reduced rate. The facts are you are 29% more likely to be hospitalized if you are unvaccinated and 19 times more likely to die. Covid is a mi or event for vaccinated and a roll of the cosmic dice if not. Workers comp issues and general employee welfare is what is causing SF to eventually require vaccines.as part of the RTO plan.

The Covid risk is for all not just unvaccinated. Recent updates are clear, calling for masks and distancing for everybody. Very few exceptions. Both vac and unvaccinated can contract and spread it, like to their families, children under 12, etc. Ignorance is not bliss. Keep up.

OP stated what is simply true… it’s an employee job market right now for many reasons. SF has yet to show it acknowledges that in the decisions being made.

Execs act like they are still in the op centers where SF was one of the top employers in the community. They are used to dictating the terms and most employees just falling in line. It is not the case with the hubs. SF is just a small fish in a big pond that thinks it is still a big fish.

No concern if everyone is vaccinated. Other option is to separate vaccinated from unvaccinated. The unvaccinated could be assigned to 3rd shift only.

Many reputable companies have already announced a delay to office until well after the new year.

They will definitely pay the price if endanger the health and life of employees and their families.

many people are still reducing their interactions and trying to be responsible. the office might be low risk now, but do you really think it will be when thousands of people are in at the same time even with reduced numbers? they can’t even keep the place clean with the amount of people that are in now.

The office is clearly a high risk situation! Anybody who doesn’t see that is clueless, either does not have or understand the facts.

Wow. Really? I have my issues with State Farm but come on… I don’t agree with this post at all.

The office will be fine and if you have a condition that you’re not taking care of, that’s more likely on you.

There are so many ways to be exposed to COVID… unless you never leave your house. I would not consider the office a high risk location.
