Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Two weeks ago, I notified you about these past brutal 10 days. In total, we lost 1180 associates. Two more days left (Thursday and Friday). We lost associates at all level, SVPs, GM, VPs, Directors, Managers and ICs

What is next? more of the same in November and December.

Note: those who are remote, more noise soon. Join a location or leave!

Your VP in GA. I miss my directors and my ICs . Very talented folks!!!! Frank doesn’t care about anything, but the quarterly dashboard.

Yes there was a work from home employee that completely hoodwinked FB and FD. He would use company funds to fly to Omaha for ‘work’. Said employee left for an FI, but made off without repercussions and FB probably bases all of his WFH fears on this single individual’s malfeasance. He mentioned that he was once referred to as an ‘astronaut’ too…

Thats what they say but they keep cutting the groups doing cloud work since it doesnt affect current revenue. They keep saying we want to go to the cloud without actually funding it.

I was told by an SVP a couple years ago (pre -Covid when he first attacked WFH) that ole FB witnessed his brother-in-law “working from home” and that he wasn’t doing sh-t and now that shitbag thinks none y’all are working when remote.

Today, I sat on a Teams meeting watching the face of my Director as she explained that the recent RIF’s were due to our company not meeting financially goals.

Seems to me that the captain of the ship should be first to go due to their litany of bad decisions. What do you think Frank?

The irony is the big push to move so many workloads to azure or aws and yet they refuse to open an office in Seattle or California where that kind of talent might come into an office. Good luck hiring in Jursey, Frank.

What logic?

So, if remote people are on the chopping block next, why when the cut my team did the cut office based and remote team members leaving approximately one third of the team (some local and some remote)? I am not trying to argue just understand the logic.

If the rumors I hear are true, then I may be the only one left in my group as I’m no longer remote. This is not sustainable! This is becoming a house of cards that will collapse. It makes zero sense. I feel for everyone, as well as our clients, they don’t deserve this.

All I can say is the OP is 100% spot on.
Full remote workers are next on the chopping block and 5 days back into the office for everyone else.

I wouldn’t be opposed to a few days in the office except oh wait that’s right, FB closed all of the west coast offices. A bit discriminatory if you ask me, there are a LOT of clients on the west coast. I will miss the people I will miss the people I work with.

I read the severance plan on Fuel and it seems to e valid through March 2022 and does note severance is paid if you are offered a position outside of 50 miles of the Geographical location as noted in workday. So it if it is in writing it has to be honored. But if they let you go for not badging in that is different. Also, I think if they move you from say manager to IC and you don’t accept them no severance unless there is a level drop. I would encourage all to save this off.

The winds change based on accounting treatment. Site strategy impacted were told move to NJ or leave, but with extended severance and set future date to separate, so NJ hires could be put in place. Those enormous costs got written off as merger/acquisition expense to consolidate locations. Even in a location that didn't exist pre-merger and FB picked since it was couple miles from his house and prob passed by on way to ivory tower in the limo each morning. That window closed. New rounds are labelled for expense cutting as we weather this terrible inflation...simple reduction in force. Remote workers more at risk as they are glaring outliers "defying" RTO dashboard/badge reports. RIF is basic severance policy, immediate separation, two weeks sev per year of service. Some office and even innovators in BH are impacted, but larger impacts with "remotes". Work function, revenue generation, client impact is not relevant...key metric is badge report compliance. Get with the program. The rising levels of collective disgust for the CEO is palpable...no vision, no plan, no clue. Has he been tested for dementia lately?

Associates in CA! You have strong employment laws. Where are the law suits? Get a class action suit.

We as VPs and SVPs , will do our best to help our amazing associates, help us, help you. we too have families and dreams. Decisions are coming straight from NYC! You can’t negotiate or compromise with Guy or Frank. Very reckless human beings

They don’t care 🤷‍♂️ They are also selling large quantities of stocks before they sell the banking division. It is very clear. MBA 101!

If you are 60 miles away, regardless of the 50 miles rule, one option for you , relocate to office you were told or get fired. Next is all remote folks, again no one is safe, many lost their jobs and already in office. But something for sure, Frank doesn’t trust anyone. All his career was to watch associates and disolve groups. He is not a traditional CEO. He is the guy to call when you need to dispose of a body, he can get messy.

Your SVP!

50 miles is nothing for some of us west coasters. We're facing 600+ miles to Sunnyvale one way if required to be in an office. The hope is they lay us off before they introduce move or your fired and no severance because you didn't show for work. That would be some BS. At least we have some people in the know providing some clarity for us all to prepare.

And what of those of us that are not near an office? I guess we get the boot. I can only hope they give us severance because I am not driving over fifty miles one way for this place.

Keep your expectations lower than the lowest limbo bar. If you are expecting a healthy severance, you should have departed no later than September. And you are right to reject an inhospitable commute.

It amazes me how the company is kicking so many people with knowledge and experience out the door. Fiserv hired me over 20 years ago as a remote employee. I was successful working from home as part of a remote team. All of us were extremely productive and professional. It's insulting that FB thinks people who work from home are unproductive. I wonder what JY thinks of all of this BS?

Remote worker here. Ridiculous that they think those of us on the west coast where all offices are now closed will want to move to NJ. Completely different lifestyle between the two, let alone no guarantee they won’t lay you off sometime after the move.

At some point in his checkered career, someone in a remote role must have really hurt FB. He's almost deranged on the topic. Is it wrong to root for the throat cancer?
