I second the comment below. You are better off outside Dell. Just look at the where the technology is going. Other companies are truly making changes to their products.
Dell has an outdated idea in the form of "new idea" and they still couldnt deliver it for past 4 yrs. There is no customer buying their idea.
You can confirm this in 1 yr when the "leaders" will be replaced.
Be happy you are disillusioned sooner than later.
As an FYI, they lock up your computer a few days before you are notified. All of a sudden your USB port are no longer functional except for a docking station. They will monitor everything you do on it. To them you are a number on a spreadsheet, no care, emotion or compassion. While there are supposed open positions, everyone one I know that was WFR’d was told they were unavailable. Once you leave Dell and land again, you will truly realize how bad it was at Dell the last few years….
For those people asking about when Severance is paid.
- Yes it is a lump sum paid all at once. You don't have any choice. So yes we all get whacked with taxes. Usually lump sum stuff is taxed at 22% (at least when I asked people who got tagged in August that was what they were taxed at).
- It is paid within 30 days of you sending in your signed termination agreement. At least that is what my package said. And the people I contacted who were tagged in August got theirs around 30 days after.
- If you are in the States, and last day is Sept 22, that pay period (i.e. Sept 15 to Sept 22) will be paid on Sept 29.
- Don't forget you have to turn in your computer and other equipment. The folks I asked who were let go in August got their box to FedEx it back to Dell about 3 weeks after Termination. And don't forget that prior to getting your exit package Dell put spyware on your system and is tracking everything being deleted, copied to USB drives, emailed etc... So be careful out there.

I got two months and then a week per each complete year and also 75% of bonus.

I cannot believe I have made it past another round. I started quiet quitting 12 months ago. I really don't know how to quit any quieter other than not showing up. I wish I could offer up my role instead of someone who actually wants to be at Dell.

It is unfortunate that they have managed to milk the company for so long with manipulative behavior. Every Start has an End. Their reign of te---r will also end soon. I hope the money they made by backstabbing others brings them the worst luck and future.
Got my 1x1 for tomorrow too. They actually copied HR! I though HR was supposed to be invited separately, LOL! They only thing that really bugs me is that I was actually up for a job in another organization a couple of months ago but told I couldn't leave because they wouldn't approve a back fill. The handwriting was already on the wall that my position was tenuous. Why they didn't just let me go to that other role? Almost cruel. I will say, the majority of my 24 years have been great. I'm sure something even better will come along.

Got laid off today and I couldn’t be happier about it, I was about to resign. Hope other people affected are not caught at a bad time
