Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Sinking company

The atmosphere in general is getting worse and there is less and less hope that this company will ever stop sinking. How much longer will it take before it hits the rock bottom? I don't want that to happen, but I am no longer optimistic about the situation here.

I’m so glad the Verizon leadership is tanking the company. I’ve been shorting the stock for some time and it’s really paying off.

There is no VZ white knight who speaks fluent and comprehensible English and does wear socks.

RIFs don't lower debt. They can help cash flow which can help us pay off debt if that is what the company chooses to do with the extra cash flow. But history has shown that management usually just chooses to spend more.

Sadly, there is no growth + labour/craft union costs:

  1. ) Absolutely, monthly plans costs need to be lowered and only with employee RIFs;
  2. ) Lower corporate debt and will only occur with employee RIFs;
  3. ) Increase free cashflow will only occur with employee RIFs; and
  4. ) Displace, the subpar leadership and ineffective executive management.

Spoke with my doctor the other day who was telling me why he went to a competitor, and it was all about cost and the way he explained it was a no brainer. When you take away all the causes and media hype, it does boil down to cost and what you get for that cost. It sounds like people who are savvy know what to do.

VZ tries to be all things to everyone and seems to have lost its way a bit. Every acquisition turns out to be cr-p. Sales of assets that are still used turn out to hurt more in the long run as the new asset owners raise prices more than expected. They put too many eggs in some baskets like 5G and where has that gotten them?

I think the company is finally refocusing and they are going to clean house. It will be interesting to see what it all looks like 2 or 3 years from now.

And the current debt load equals or is higher than the current VZ market capitalization.

Where in that opening statement is the word "debt". I was commenting on the sinking ship, which is in the title. Oh well....

The bottom line is that there will be thousands of jobs, livelihoods, riffed, due to this lack of continual focus 2023, 2022, 2021, or 2020, and before. This just did not stem because its 2023 as this take years of executive mismanagement. Wrong people in key executive positions led by this current CEO -- having a conflict of interest due to the duality as CEO and Chairman of the Board versus an Independent Chairperson for the Board of Directors.

Why would a major US corporation like Verizon bring in a CEO that was FIRED from his prev CEO position? They felt bad and wanted to give him a second chance?

This was done on purpose. Hans is doing exactly was he was hired to do. Destroy Verizon.

A foreign CEO and a slew of foreign execs from India. Perhaps a passive aggressive attack on the US by bringing down a major corporation or taking out US communications.

Strategic planning has to do duly with the corporate weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and strengths.

The shift to the woke based paradigm has resulted in the lack of corporate focus.

And 2023 has nothing to do with the subject topic. The bottom line, there is no recourse for the incurred debt except fraud and stupidity. The person, him/her, gets paid to navigate the seas, calm or stormy, strategic planning, thus the only question is the brand name of the crystal ball used and whether it is made in China or Vietnam?

So what is the merit of your statement, as to the approx. VZ market capitalization with a "B" for "Billion" thus explain?? The enterprise value is worthless which encapsulates the corporate registered debt?

You do realize it's a 150b~, with a B company. It isn't sinking, it might be hitting some rough seas, but in 2023 that's understandable.

OP: VZ will declare bankruptcy, the only question remaining, how soon and will it be for total bankruptcy or simply bankruptcy protection?

The stock price will sink to either $5/share or be worthless.

Everyone needs to RTO. Those that wanna be there ,will turn this company around. Those that don't come back, is probably for the best. The company is like the water in a toilet bowl right now.
