8% Bonus!

For Shell, not XOM. That’s in addition to Shell’s regular yearly bonus.

“The award enables those employees to share in our current operational and financial success,” Shell said. “It is not a response to inflation or cost-of-living challenges.”

Check out ConocoPhillips special dividend payments. $1.40 per share additionally plus their normal $0.46…. Looks like another benchmarking opportunity for the ole XX

MAnagment will get CASH BONUS...but not regular employees. XOM needs to pay the non-executive employees JUST a competitive salary only...No bonuses based on profits.
PROFIT BASED COMPENSATION is for shareholders and a very few managers (Earnings Bonus Units...although that executive incentive system is being revised).

Maybe the RSUs will be bigger this year for the low level/ non-managerial / unimportant employees. But most should be happy with the 3% in June. If not happy, join Shell (or Facebook/Twitter/Google/Amazon/Microsoft ...oops they are laying off).

Darren gave us 8% for two years, and this year 5%. PIP. So don’t complain.

The Chosen/Sponsored will get more than 8%.

The company still wants to reduce staffing. The Dallas management is happy every time someone leaves for PIP, retirement or just no longer wants to work here. Giving a Shell style bonus would slow the flood and seem like they care.

We will only do something when they can no longer operate the facilities. Long way to go before we reach that point.

We are ExxonMobil!

I still have hope that Darren, Jack, and Neil have some compassion with the current employees and give us another bonus based on the huge profits Exxon made 2Q22. Some of us are not millionaires, like most people in the US think Exxon employees are, and could really use a hand to pay some medical bills (for one of my kids) not covered by the medical plan. I can only hope. Even if it's not the generous 8% Shell is giving its employees. 5% would be very much appreciated. Anyway, we'll see the quality of our leaders soon, I guess.

ExxonMobil only offers you the downside. The second there is an excuse to cut pay and benefits ExxonMobil will take it. Meanwhile when there is a legitimate reason to increase pay or benefits be prepared to hear things like “we are looking into it” or “there is a study going on” or “we are working to influence the decider” We can cut without study or a long drawn out process but it takes a long period of study for us to conclude that our current pay is competitive and no changes are needed.

“The bonus will apply to the vast majority of Shell’s 82,000 employees but will exclude senior management of executive vice president level and higher.“
Amazing!

Clearly, Shell believes in investing in its people more than ExxonMobil.

This is when people really know that the company does not care about you. The only people they care about are senior executives. Share the upside as we all felt the downside.

If they can’t give us the 8%, at least give us a second ply on the toilet paper on campus. How many billions do we have to make to get some charmin in this place?

I asked my supervisor if EM were likely to offer us 8% like Shell.

She said “I’m going through menopause and I couldn’t give a sh-t”. She burst into tears and left me standing at her desk while everyone gave me stink eye.

I think we are not getting 8%.

No bonus for anyone other than exec’s, XOM will only provide additional compensation on the basis of being competitive. For your hard work you should not expect anymore than a couple of percent in the next annual pay review, we pay based on comparators not inflation.

No need to give out across the board bonuses to every employee until we reach 50,000 employees globally.

We were at 63,000 employees at the end of 2021.

We will probably reduce your salary by 8% since fifty percent of the employees globally will not get a cost of living or merit raise to offset global inflation.

This is hilarious - the bonus specifically excludes execs- Exxon would do the exact opposite ie execs get the 8% while the peasants get nothing.
