Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Hire more people!

I understand that the management is trying its hardest to minimize overhead as much as it can but this will not work. We're all overworked to the extreme and there's a limit to how long we can continue like this. If it continues like this, layoffs will not be necessary. Everybody will choose to quit rather than continue like this.

Why would Honeywell want to hire more people? That means costs will go up and the scam wont be sustained long enough for the board to make millions upon millions and live rich for life after destroying American industry, business, lives, communities, etc.

Of course they did their job by making the shareholding elite richer as they sell their stock and will never be prosecuted for their crimes.

Recently left, left on good terms just wanted to get out before I was stuck doing 2 or more people's job. I feel bad to all my friends still stuck there. It is clear that leadership will not move quickly to bring help in. They will authorize reqs but slow everything else down, like making an offer, I would expect open positions to remain open for 4-6 months. You will just be expected to cover your job plus those open positions as they “work” on backfilling them. It took me being outside to see the trick they play on you. I fell for the, “this is temporary" and "we are working to resolve" excuse when it was really the norm. When you are in the middle of it you make excuses for them to justify your decision to be abused by them. I guess I was a slow learner but I am grateful that I saw the truth and have gotten out. Trust your gut folks, you are being played!!

Even the dog is smart enough to see that there will always be upcoming lay offs…
Roses are red, violets are blue, and even the dog knows Honeywell loathes you.

Any issues encountered will be used as an excuse to completely move offshore.

Mad dog is hopping mad, not gonna get more people, they just need to “figure it out”, typical buzzwords “transformation for speed”, “Go beyond”, “Excelsior”, and of course “The future disaster is what you make it”

Your indicator is not accurate. Actual turnover remains BELOW industry norms and is not currently a concern. The inability to attract new talent is a moderate issue in some markets..

Just flat out not hiring is quite a time saver than all the times I’ve had req’s canceled AFTER going through the interview process and selecting a candidate for hire.

I’m not the most social of engineers and the bubble of people I work with closely is pretty limited. Even still, I have seen 6 people leave this year.
If this is an accurate indicator, then people must be jumping the Honeywell ship at an incredible rate.

It really has gotten to the point where you start feeling guilty on the weekend's on Saturday. This knowing full well there is no possible way you'll ever be caught up. This new Accelerator program is really making it much worse. Do in 2 months what took 2 years ? Good lord, product managers are going Ape Sh-t.

Hire more people? Good one. Need to shed 2500 by end of October in AERO. Got this from the Dog.

They are hiring plenty of people. In the US Honeywell is critically short of these skill sets:

  1. Environmental techs to clean up superfund sites.
  2. RealEstate agents to sell cleaned up sites
  3. Lawyers specializing in labor law and environment liability claims.
  4. Manual day labor to pack up the stuff and ship to Mexico.

Don't do overtime and don't let yourself be overworked. Simple solution.

Let the failure volcano erupt! End of Q3 folks, either the id--ts in charge decide to address the lack of manpower or face their mediocrity

Just stop. Tell your boss what can be accomplished and do the work. Leave on time each day with no regret.

If mandatory overtime is ordered request it in writing. If written instruction is refused post back here and we will put you in touch with labor lawyers. Work ZERO overtime without written instructions. Print and save all requests in a hard copy file offsite.

Every time I have requested written direction to work overtime my bosses have caved.

Remember that failure to record hours is Illegal. Make sure you record every minute you are thinking about Honeywell. Training, books, all work no matter how small. Nothing is free. This is Honeywell policy.

You put 110% last year, why is it so hard for you to just work 2% more this year? Seriously, don't you love the company more than your own life? Your VP promised to cooperate that you would work these extra hours for free. Don't you want him to get his annual bonus?

Why can't we all be fast and amazing like the pit crew in their agile videos? Because a pit crew has 12 people doing 1 job and we have 1 person doing 12 jobs.
