They are apparently worried about layoffs. In meetings, they are aggressive.

I don't see anything wrong with working from home. Companies should not force layoffs based on the WFH or RTO status.
We all should work from home and convert the office buildings to residential buildings.
without a medical accommodation they will be the first to go between April and June depending on BG/EF
They don't need to feel, they just need to write the checks and F off.
It’s doubtful anyone is going to feel your petty vengeance
I'm in the same boat. It's readily apparent that the ONLY reason for forcing us to drive in is to torment us in the hopes that we quit and save them severance costs. Well, jokes on them, I'll play their stupid game, do no work at that S hole, and make sure I'm super productive when working at home. They wanna play games? Ok, cool, let's play games. Alternatively they can let me WFH like I was before C19 or pay me a years worth of severance. All I know for sure is that I'm not letting these evil twerps in the ivory tower get their way. They've already terminated too many friends and great employees. They don't get everything they want. In it for spite at this point, and it's entirely the fault of the worst leadership this company has ever seen.
All of my team members are located in different time zones other than mine. But I have to drive many miles to the office where I don't know anybody and none of my team members are present. People like us have no reason to drive to the office because we don't talk to anybody in the office. They only get annoyed if I approach to talk to them. Quite frankly, I think everybody should work from home instead of wasting a driving time and using expensive gas.
Everyone in the US is a target. It's a raffle every Tuesday that you don't want to win. It's true they want to get rid of all the fully remote employees, but just because one is in a Core or specialty location, it does not mean they are safe.
The only people that can laugh are our overseas colleague.
@syb+1rSI9Gi1 For me and most it’s just staying a meets. No need for the extra Boy Scout stuff
OP you should have mentioned scrum masters and POs
Location Strategy is layoffs phase 1
Ok Karen. Sorry you feelings were hurt.
Cynical is probably a better word for it.
It's a shame their employer would put them in a position where most people would feel stressed and it might come out in their demeanor.
Not sure what you mean by aggressive.
I am remote. I ensure I am treated fairly, given (or will take) equal opportunity for good projects/work, continue to be vocal about issues & also give praise to others. Overall I ensure I am productive and still providing value to this $hithole of a company. I could care less what anyone calls it.
For me, it’s self preservation, pride in myself AND ensuring I am not rated for anything less than a Meets while I am here.
Oh by the way, OP, non remotes are FAR from safe. Don’t fall off that ivory tower with your sweeping generalizations. Most WF jobs can (and will) be sourced to India.
My experience is they (those that are ‘next in line’) exhibit have a gallows humor
