Please, enlighten me, what was the "scam"? BTW, HPE ran a tight ship , no denying that. WWT... we only use them for equipment. GBAM has always had issues, most of which were due to internal decisions. HPE and especially WWT had nothing to to with the "performance of GBAM.
That finger you are pointing and waving, it's pointing in the wrong direction.
ML was failing due to lousy mortgage assets. We bought ML and the headaches that came with the "merger". BAC did go through a class action suit because of the price we paid. Bottom line, ML was failing, BAC took a chance and it paid off in the long run. The ML brand is the only remnant of the former company. We probably kept the ML trademark because the "brand" was respected and trusted by a lot of their customers.
Countrywide was forced on BAC by the Feds. We had to take them on if we wanted a bailout.
LOL...I know this is what I sound like to folks who don't work in banking at all....
GBAM was the only acronym I even recognized in that post.
what language is this written in
@1gug Bank of America was pressured/forced to buy Merril by Bernarke and Hank Paulson. Without these acquisitions and mergers BAC would be a regional $hitty bank. Zero organic growth and myopic vision, luckily we have the deposits from the retail bank to help with the bail ins this time around.
edit. my post keeps disappearing, the 'ministry of truth' did not approve it...

Too bad ML management drove your business into the toilet and boa had to (read Govt Mandate) bail out your a$$. Get over it. Ancient history. Like Jurassic ancient.
Gurllll....
Techie talking shop, highly specific acronyms from Merril, a bit cryptic...He is right about the trajectory of he acquired company
This is what happens when folks WFH, people lose their mind and start spewing incoherent gibberish gobbledygook.
Huh?
