Hello - I got an offer earlier this week for an engineering position. I currently work for another company and am doing okay.
I have an offer from l3Harris and I need to decide. I am afraid about one key aspect only...
Is their enough (reasonable) job security at L3Harris? Also, what else should I know about L3Harris? Micromanaging? Layoffs?

OP here. I use speak-to-type feature on my phone. What a stupid smart a$$ guy below who thinks that every single time someone posts something that it must be HR. Stupid sick person.
HR would be lazy enough to use a talk to type app on their phone as they work from home. Trolls be HR trolling as the say.

I am not even willing to waste energy to "type" my responses when it is not that critical to do so. I use a (Convert speech to text) tool when typing casual conversations or chatting. So, the comment you are making about "here" or "hear" isn't a big deal for me, as the readers (including you) were able to get the overall message.
Going back to your original argument, I never made the claim that I have not negotiated my offer (that's not something to be discussed here, and I know what to do for that part and am not interested to hear others thought about that part, so don't make a claim that I haven't negotiated my offer). The only reason I posted here is obvious. I wanted to learn from former employees’ experiences. There is nothing wrong with that. I don't see that as a bad approach for someone who received an offer.
Last, I am not going to waste energy to convince you that I am a real person asking about the company and that I am not an HR troll. Simple because I don't care about what you think or believe. I only care about those who are willing to respond and provide feedback based on their experience at l3H (which I've already captured here from previous responses). Another smart a$$* is added to the list.
Here's some advice for you... if you plan on taking a job in engineering, maybe you should try and write better than a third grader.
Your phrase, "I am here to here..." should be "I am here to hear...."
This is actually good advice to yourself. Listen before you speak (or write.)
By the way, if you're not negotiating in an offer, you've already shown that you cannot do the job you'll be hired for. (I'm still convinced that you're in HR for the above reasons.)

Most people seem to move on before they can get laid off... not just at L3H but everywhere.
Hard to say for sure, L3 was a sprawling company with a lot of different divisions before it merged with (got absorbed by) Harris and it probably varies a lot from one place to the next.
The statement about "HR getting upset" is another TROLL post. If you really think (or try to pretend that you know) these people care at all then you've never worked at any L3H location. HR goes through the motions in every single way. They walk the halls, sit around and sip coffee, plan a few mediocre parties and gossip about everything and everyone.

HR getting real upset lately. I work in security so I deal with HR escorts and hear everything, this is a real HR person having a freak out that no one is accepting the low pay. It's all good , you are HR accept the cr---y job choice like I have in security.

Anyway, I used this website a few years ago to make a determination on two offers I got from two difference companies, and it was very helpful in my decision making process and I learned a lot about the one of the two companies at that time, and I made the right decision by knowing which offer to choose instead. So I don't see anything wrong with asking the question here. If u have doubts about the intentions then you may ignore the post, but again, I really appreciate any feedback. There is no other way to know more about the company other than asking current or former employees on a website like this!

I seriously doubt that anyone with an offer who is an engineer has to ask on a forum like this if they should accept a job offer... more than likely, it's the usual HR trolls back to their stupid tactics.
L3H isn't worth a career change at all, unless you are walking out the door.
At the northern NJ site, the working environment is not so exciting. They have high turnover (people coming and going) all the time. Mangers have their favorite people and there is a lot of micromanaging. If you're looking for just a job just to meet the required years to retirement then this is the place for you. This is not the place where you will grow your skills. If you are young (20's to mid30's) and want to grow then find a good commercial company that is growing using AI and ML (machine learning). Now a days, the federal contracting companies are for old timers looking to put in a few more year until retirement. Since there is a labor shortage, there are many jobs out there that pay very well. Look elsewhere, and you'll find a better happier place. This is my honest opinion.
The best solution is to read through previous threads here. I like it so far, ~1.5 years here.

I have been working here at L3Harris for a couple of months. The environment within the engineering or research teams/departments seem to be friendly, though it may be different from office to another. I would suggest you wait to hear from as many employees here once they respond to your post, and say what the majority of people will see.
I am not sure about layoffs - I have been here for a few months only, and can't advise about that. The same for micromanaging, or management engagement, that will take at least 12 months for me to give you an honest feedback.
I hope that senior people here will weigh in and get your their feedback. Congrats on the offer. I hope you will make the right decision.
What part that disappointed me was that the relocation package is really really not that good but I heard it can be negotiated.
