I know that ETWs are typically less expensive then FTEs but there has been zero communication given by Nike on where ETWs will fit in the reorg & managers have been told to not talk about it. Given that and many contracts are up for renewal in May & the announcement of a 2nd phase in May what are the chances that almost all contracts are not renewed.

I’d normally agree with @1hbl+1rgDWXuc but HR has been driving like a grandma in a BMW for years now.

Simple fact is Nike’s start dates aren’t equally distributed across the year. Though I would expect most start dates to be in July & August.
May ETWs are very happy as an ETW.
May is no different than any other month in regards to ETW contract end date.
OP stating "Given that and many contracts are up for renewal in May" is plain stoopid talk
Despite them being more expensive Nike continues to find workarounds to allow contractors to work in perpetuity with no true benefits development and def no bonuse bc it's more flexible and not reported the same way to the Wall Street brow
Every ETW situation with regards to their team is different so there isn’t a one size fits all solution here. Contracts extensions can literally happen the day before you’re supposed to be over so best course of action would be have an honest conversation with your manger on what they expect to happen but always plan for the worst.
No idea about ETW renewals but I do know that ETW’s are often not less expensive. While Nike doesn’t give ETW’s FTE benefits it does pay hefty agency fees to retain ETW’s. The point of ETW’s isn’t to save money as much as it is to add labor flexibility.
They cost more than FTEs but without liability
