Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I would like to suggest

A quarterly pizza party for all v-teamers. It would go a long way in bridging the managers and all other employees.it wouldn't break the budget while fostering goodwill by the c-suite. Please consider this Hans, we would all appreciate it.

I really like this idea. I would much rather have pizza and beer, but I'll settle for pizza and sodas.

Are you somehow suggesting we BOOS (bring our own sodas), or will manager provide 2 liters with cups and ice? Some workgroups, such as garages have their own sodas machines, some do not.

Best I can do is a 5 dollars off an order of 100 dollars or more at Little Caesars. Would that get you back to the office?

Great idea! Just make sure it's good quality pizza. Dominos and Little Caesars won't cut it.

First red flag was when manager scheduled a lunch to welcome a new hire and instead of paying for our lunches with his p-card he split the check up at the table. I knew to start working on my resume that night.

Verizon is too radically diverse in all of the wrong ways for anything fun. How about vz primarily serves US customers, so their employees should be US-based. How about I hope my kid isn't one of the alphabet soup. How about being vegan is silly. How about dog parents aren't parents.

Why is it that saying something is okay as long as it's completely and indefensibly immoral. "Why did you take my birthday cake out of the oven and throw it on the floor? It's not a bday cake yet. Well it would have been a bday cake if you left it in there for 45 more minutes." bill burr

How about... not having to worry you'll say something that offends someone standing in front of you or off in the distance as long as it's said sincerely.

That's why parties will never be fun at vz. You'll never get to meet the real person unless they're really boring or "global citizens".

I'm not saying pizza is bad, but the only thing you can talk about is work, how much you like your kids/pets and the weather... F*** the weather and talking about work isn't a party, and I don't want to know about your kids.

A pizza party ain't gonna do it. He can only have caviar and its up to your leadership to throw a pizza party. It's in the budget but all business units interested, need to agree.

Hm. Seems right up their alley actually.
