I've noticed that a lot of people still have too high expectations for Dell. Why is that? Hasn't this company proven countless times that we shouldn't get our hopes up? Expecting changes for the better is just a waste of time. Just my 2 cents.

"Ugh. Dell is the same as every other large corporation."

@1igy+1mLTFw5o is right. To expand it wider, go to a VAR who specializes in security or to a security OEM. Those are the growth engines in 2023. They're hiring, crushing numbers, and from what I can tell talking to folks in that field are happier than anyone in infrastructure.
I though Dell was going to switch back to private again. Wasn't that a rumor not long ago.
Ugh. Dell is the same as every other large corporation. When you say you are dissatisfied with how Dell treats employees you need to understand it is all large corporations. The economy is in a downswing and IT spending from Covid is in the past. That means in order to show investors they are profitable they are going to cut people. This is because they are incentivized to show quarterly performance, not long term health for the company and definitely not taking care of the people. Go to HPE, Amazon, VMWare, or any other large corporation and it will be the same. If you want a more family driven atmosphere go to a smaller company that isn't publicly traded.
If you were getting a few hundred grand a year and flown to vegas to hit the tables and the vodka with a free hotel, you'd swap a few screams as well for it. Fair trade really.

You should go to FRS where leaders literally scream for Michael And Jeff like it’s a Beatles concert in the 60s. The cult of personality is our greatest weakness. Each leader wants their own cult. After the Feb layoffs I noticed many of the surviving Directors are “yes men” who don’t challenge their leaders ideas. Introspection is key. Healthy debate is critical. Doesn’t seem like enough of that is currently happening
