A perfect example of this is the "Stock Share" B.S they pulled back in 2014/2015.
Managers decided who they wanted to get rid of, then gave them a lower stock share than they deserved. Magically, and for the first time in Intel history, your stock share became the ONLY metric used to gauge performance. As an added bonus, the folks they fired were also deemed "ineligible for rehire". Nice little kick in the nuts after 20-30 years of service....
The same tactic was applied the following year to weed out additional undesirables (people who weren't afraid to ask REAL questions during B.U.M's)
