Ford doesn't allow contractors to work home. Will the threat of covid19 have the leadership change this policy temporarily or will it just be a reason to cull the herd further?

Our entire group - several hundred were issued soften tokens today.
While most Silicon Valley companies are having their employees work from home , we are still stuck going to the office. Ford is handing this situation terribly!
Ford has a big problem on there hands I worked for ford for over 10 and seen the red for many years now and yes the new ford is going to be contract employees it save them money and they don’t have to deal with liability and legacy cost . Plus, they over estimated there future in EV and Autonomous vehicle they spent billions into it and have not yet seen any returns .
@1ijd+13V4H8cr Here's a thought though. Maybe just maybe different jobs have different supply and demands ratios.
Yes. Confirmed by my manager yesterday.

Are you for real? I get at least a dozen messages from recruiters every week. They are, like everyone else, scrambling to find resources. You either are purposely being obtuse, or are just really unaware of how tight the labor market is right now. Either way you are talking out of your behind.
Better check with HR.
The VP of Vehicle Component and Systems Engineering (Product Development) sent out a couple of emails spelling out the company policy of working from home. In it, the email states:
"Agency/Purchased Services/Supplemental employees are eligible to work remotely as part of the BCP."
So, for PD non-direct employees, the answer is yes. I hear they are investigating a way to allow workers like CAD Designers a way to work from home.
Contractors will be the new form of doing business. Not only at Ford, but in the corporate world. If you are still waiting, you better start freshing up your skills. The jungle is real. There are 100+ talented people applying for that same position of yours. And, making it to the recruiter's desk is now a big accomplishment. And, getting an interview like winning the lotto.
