Any more being closed in New Jersey?

We dwell on Schart because he's a pompous id--t and the pseudo-intellectual harassed half our employees who think that all lives matter. Then he tried to make all of us come back to the office before he took a job for wfc working remotely.
We dwell on Scharf because he was the last leader to have any significant layoff way back in August 2018. This is why there is no talk of layoffs on this layoff board.
Nobody here has written anything to imply that the the CSC was ever meant to house the entire downtown Pittsburgh population… it wasn’t. It was meant and designed for Operations, specialized items processing and other concerns such as overnight third shift security issues, particularly the security cameras.
But it can satisfy the entire required Pittsburgh footprint going forward. Reading comprehension can be your friend or your enemy. Please allow it to become your friend.
Technically there were layoffs under Todd, but all were actually performance based for cause for nonperforming employees. Todd took the high road and gave them the SUB package in light of the era. I seriously doubt that Robin will make that mistake based upon his return to the PIP process.
@8zum - No matter how much you defend it, the CSC was never meant to house the entire downtown Pittsburgh population. And you assume that I'm someone who cares about going into the office - I don't. I left BNYM happily a while back. You sound like the poor guy who thinks there was never a layoff under Todd. If that what floats your boat, have at it!
The CSC was designed in the late nineties, broke ground in 2000, opened in 2002 and is a fully modern state of the art facility. It’s easily our best building and perfect for Pgh. Your real issue is that it’s not your home. A lot of people share that issue but that’s your deal.
Your best course of action is to conduct a job search for a fully remote position.
It’s a great facility and perfect for the Pittsburgh footprint.
The only real complaint here is that it’s not working from home. People really just need to get over it and either commute or conduct a job search for a fully remote position. COVID is over.
@7nji - The CSC might have been a "well thought out" facility in the 1990's when everyone had large cubicles and plenty of space. Now however, with management wanting to pack people in like sardines on every floor, the place will be a mess. Just look at the restroom situation - there are only one men's and one women's bathroom on each floor, with a max of 4 or 5 stalls each. When the density per floor was 100-150 staff, that was fine back then, but now when they want to squeeze 250-300 people or more in the same space, I see a problem.
500 Grant St will be vacated at the end of the current lease (2025, I think, but not certain) Plan is to have everyone over to the CSC. This is not a secret it was announced during a recent senior leadership meeting. Process is supposed to start sooner than later
@7dml, well, you were wrong. East Syracuse has been closed for years.
I told you that East Syracuse will close by early 2024. I was spot on.
It’s a great well thought out facility. Fantastic place to work and equipped for all sorts of specialized processing. Very modern, designed in the late 1990s and pretty much a perfect facility. Some people just have to gripe.
It can handle it if everyone is crammed in like sardines, and you’re OK with the constant noise
Umm… no. It’s not super vertical but it is wide and long. It’ll Easily work for all of Pittsburgh, it’s modern and great specialized floors. It was really well thought out.
Um, deceptively large means it's actually small.
The Pgh Client Service Center is a deceptively large space that can easily handle the entire Pittsburgh footprint that is needed. It’s a well thought out facility. It’s OBNYM that is not needed. We’ve always rented out much of it and only own it because a Fortune 500 company went belly up building it and we held the loans.
I had a director tell me that we wouldn't be renewing the master lease at 500 Grant in Pittsburgh. Most employees will be moving to 500 Ross. I don't know how that's possible since we occupy most of OMC. Most of the 11th floor data center at the CSC has been (or will be) transformed into usable office space. But still, that's going to be some high density seating.
Where are you all getting this info. Oriskany has never been “rumored” to close nor did any senior management tell you that. Find something better to do than gossip and spread lies
"Please correct if I have this wrong but doesn’t Scharf’s 3 year warning for closing Oriskany warning due this year? Or has that guidance been extended…."
No idea honestly...everything I've heard has been by 2025, from several higher ups. I'm unable to locate anything form CS days regarding this. But that not surprising.
Everyone mentions Scharf - you all realize he left in 2019 right? Lol. Yet people still talk about this 3 year plan of his. That would’ve been 2022 you d-mb d-mbs.
Scharf didn't even know Oriskany existed.
Please correct if I have this wrong but doesn’t Scharf’s 3 year warning for closing Oriskany warning due this year? Or has that guidance been extended….
Oriskany is rumored to be closing by 2025.
East Syracuse closed in 2021 and the employees report to Oriskany now.
Any non-growth center.
@1ltf, East Syracuse has been closed for 3 years.
Someone told me East Syracuse will close by early 2024 and all employees will be moved to Utica
Goldman deal ?
Seems like our "leaders" have totally forgotten about 9/11, Sandy, the Pune flood, the Indian Ocean tsunami, etc, etc...
