Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

TDA Jersey City

I just want an exit package. Please push me out and pay me something. I don't want to be a part of the future of Schwab.

I'm talking about Schwab Blue. Schwab Green managers may be more compassionate and caring. But legacy Schwab, does not take volunteers. All I can say is if you try to volunteer, it probably will make your work life more miserable until you eventually leave. Don't know anything about Green managers, such as if they will just keep that to themselves.

@1jga+1dtDwlgS Schwab Green managers who understand the position people are in have usually been willing to add people to the list.

From their standpoint, the person is just going to leave anyways, you can’t change that. It’s better to do right by them and give them an exit package they deserve for their tenure and service. That’s Schwab Green culture.

If you have any kind of retention bonus, forget about it. You won’t be able to pass that off.

zero commission trades, combined with passive investment products, are a long term disaster for this company. and there's no more consolidation to be done after the TDA deal.

i might also remind you what happens to schwab circa 2008-10 when the equity market corrects 50%.

Schwab does not take volunteers. Period. The only thing you will do if tell your manager, is they will make your work life miserable. Hoping you will voluntarily quit.

Why don't you ask your manager if you can be on the list for Q1 2022? Probably too late for Q4 2021. Some have been successful with this approach. Granted it carries some risks.

To the other's point about Schwab not having a future, Schwab's doing quite well (see its stock) and rising interest rates are a strong tailwind. Prior TDA shareholders, including the largest one, TD Bank, have done quite well.

What future? Schwab can’t deliver, too much red tape, too many pennies pinched. No product.
