Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

New layoff strategy for the New Year

Layoffs have been enshrined in The Chevron way and will soon be a 5th category for PMP (Align and Inspire, Growth, Deliver, build and layoff excitement). Is the new strategy small group layoffs? I've been hearing they assure you no layoffs are coming and then slip them in last minute. Seems they want layoffs but want to attempt to keep morale a bit higher by suprising people that they happened to decide on cuts that they are sad about. What are your experiences so far?

@2vhp Who cares what the layoff was called. Renewal, transformation or boot you A$$ out the door. Can you add anything to what was posted on how the ELT is going to do this? If not then have another drink and S-T-F-U.

@1jnz……2020 was not RENEWAL. Renewal was eons ago. 2020 was transformation led by the elder JG who was the ultimate A$$HO13 in the ELT who ultimately even MW had to ask to leave after he called CTC a bunch of crybabies in a townhall………….you are fishing in your post here, or way young and not knowing and posting through what you “hear”, or you are a soldier that just confused the beat downs as we all have, or you are on your 4th glass of scotch. if the latter, good for you! If the second from latter, me too and I understand! If the first one, shame on you. If the second one, I understand your concern but be thoughtful in your response. lots of soldiers got hurt by MW, PB, JG and MN and it is sad they dont’ give a true FU&* as they rationalize in their own head how we are all wrong and they are right…….sad….what ol MW used to say, SERVANT LEADERSHIP. That sh&t dead now that it means something that he and other ELTers should act on…..they won't!

The rumor I heard (take it for what it is worth) is that the layoffs will be more targeted and not corporation wide. This allows management to boot people without a big package. The word is that MW wasn't happy about wasting money kicking people out the door from the 2020 Renewal and this method means a better bottom line. I'm not an attorney and don't know the law but I'm sure they do and this won't be pretty.

They say no layoff but they are forcing people into not great jobs and they will be leaving a lot of people “Still Standing” after two post cycles in the PDC.

Best of both worlds for them. They don’t have to pay severance and they can say it wasn’t a layoff
