Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Layoff Choices

When choosing layoffs - is there a way to specifically ensure we get rid of certain people? I’m assuming not. Specifically, I’ve seen many people who are absolute parasites in retail, abusing intermittent FMLA with serious intensity, that are still hanging around. Seems like they don’t even care about getting paid and just have the job for the health insurance. Why can’t we get rid of people like that? Their managers, managers manager, and managers’ managers’ manager would all love to. I don’t get why it can’t happen.

Glad this post got blasted with true feedback. You must be one of the people abusing FMLA.

I'd volunteer for a layoff if they asked for volunteers. I don't want to be here, and I can afford to retire.

But I'm not going to just walk away from a 6 figure job and health benefits. I'm hanging around for as long as they're willing to keep paying me.

However, if they give me a little incentive I'd be gone in a flash. And it would save the job for somebody who actually wants to be here.

Call me a Low-Performing High-Performer who is just tired of all the BS.

Tech manager told us they are prioritizing layoffs by low performers "this" time. Yes, you read that correctly Compared to what since 2019? Age, race, years of service

I used to be a manager at WF (never again!) and yes, people do abuse the h*ll out of FMLA. I dealt with it all the time. It’s hard to get rid of someone who is abusing FMLA because of govt protection, and many know how to game the system Took me almost 18 months to get rid of someone who was totally abusing it.

Depression is covered under FMLA. So what if I have an episode and bring myself out of it by going to a fair? My doctor would 100% support that. FMLA is federal so good luck on that.

To the person who said, "I doubt you've seen many" I've worked in 9 different branches and saw at least 30 people clearly abusing it. They would literally come by from time to time having the time of their lives and joke around with people and you'd see them out at the fair and other recreational places, but they were too sick to work of course...

I know who you are talking about and I don't know how they are able to abuse the system like they do.

For starters FMLA is a protected leave. I also doubt you've seen "many" people abusing FMLA. You probably haven't seen anybody abusing it. Mind your own business.
