Lump sum surprise

Anyone else notice that their January and February lump sum numbers dropped this month? I expect drops in the 3rd month projection but I've never seen month 1 or 2 estimates change

It's not just the interest rates. There was a calculation change in 2023 that caused Jan and Feb lump sum amounts to change

Not a surprise at all. The PBGC rate was 0% for the longest time until last April when it increased to 1/2%. It's been climbing monthly ever since. Not getting better any time soon. Going to take years. Thank god our 401ks are kicking bu-t.

@1kxu+1kuGU7Xl I understand its all about the rates, but the interest rates for Jan and Feb were set in Nov and Dec. In order for those amounts ti have changed this month then the rates set in nov and dec must have changed in Jan. I don't think that's a normal occurrence

The lump sum amounts for retiring in Jan and Feb are much lower this month than they were last month. I check these every month and don't recall ever seeing this happen. If you were planning to retire this month or next then you just got a big surprise.

@hup+1kuGU7Xl lump sum has nothing to do with how the business is doing. Educate yourself so you don’t continue to sound like an id--t. Lump sum is going down because of GATT and interest rates going up.

@hup+1kuGU7Xl your ignorance is showing. Has nothing to do with the business.
