Left back in 2007 due to a skills rebalancing. Just one of many terms for a layoff. Get out if you aren't already and remember, there is life after IBM, and it will be a lot better life too.

Getting paid less than IBM. Got to travel the world with IBM and got paid 6 figures, but I hated it.
You learn how to live with less. It’s hard before it becomes normal again
In concrete terms it is better because I get paid more money to do more satisfying work, with more control over my time, freedom and flexibility of working hours, working style, working environment. I get to do actual work and not just pointless process adherence. They are specific ways my life is better.
People always say this generically. I say bs. No one ever says how life is better. How much better or gives concrete evidence. I think people are actually sad they left ibm because like is not better.
Looks like no one comes here from a good place.
