That won't change what is already in motion.
Only thing it would change is your PTO balance which will be paid out in full upon termination.

@1mme withholding and taxation on supplemental wages are two different things. https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/taxes/bonus-tax-rate-how-are-bonuses-taxed

The real answer OP is that if you do end up getting laid off your PTO will be paid out at the same tax rate as a bonus so you will only receive roughly 55%.
Up to you to determine if it’s worth it to take the time or reserving the time as a bonus for later.
And for those of you that get laid off and given 60 days to remain on payroll with no access, the benefit is you have two more months with normal tax treatment for your salary. Severance is also taxed as a lump sum bonus.
Guess how I know.

As someone who was laid off in October, if you are scheduled for PTO, take it. You coming back into the office instead of taking your PTO is not going to change anything. They already know who will be laid off. It’s out of your control.
If you are laid off you will get paid for any PTO hours you have accrued and not used.

It'll be on your final paycheck. It's all on the HR site. Search is your friend.

Yes so you can get paid out your PTO. You can cancel it with HR if you were laid off. I took PTO before I got laid off and regret not using the rest of my Covid pay. Use that first.

Absolutely. You need to show your overlords you are a hard worker and will put the company above family and health
