It’s finally happening. No interested buyers so it’s being spun out.

very true, they were building a slack competitor, which failed, and then trying to convince company to keep adding money by creating a phantom on replacing webex, which failed miserably. But, that was 5 years ago now, the current leaders cannot use that as the excuse.
Is it a baseless rumour like always ?
What will Aruna do, if she can no longer be the center of attention? Javed can't stand her so maybe she will finally be kicked to the curb. That would be so EGGZITING!
"You spin out winners not losers "
If this was a game of magic the gathering, I would tap 2 blue islands, throw a counterspel in and say "Scientific atlanta"
And watch you wheep 6 billion tears (about the amount we lost with this great deal)
Still beats the flip camera..
This claim gets made every time there is a layoff.
You spin out winners not losers
WebEx is at risk for government contracts. Three strikes you are out.

Cisco lost the plot in Collaboration long ago under RT. Wouldn't surprise me if the whole thing goes.
@1mqv+1kcwSAFS The layoffs happening now are to cook the books prior to spin out.
I thought everything in collab is webex and collab is strategic to Cisco? Net it out for the folks that do not know enough about webex or collab. Please.
Why would Cisco pay for the lay-off benefits of more folks before spin out? it doesn't make sense if true.
sweet karma
Zoom is buying WebEx customer base and will convert WebEx licenses to Zoom licenses so no need to bring over any Cisco folks except for a small handful
One of J2's crowning achievements or not? Can he go with them?
I was told that majority of employees in WebEx group will be let go with 6 month severance which is in addition to the 4000 employee LR that was announced to press
can someone elaborate what this means
JK will be CEO of the newly formed Webex LLC. All collab products going.
Will Javed be fired as part of this spin-out?
Did someone actually say Cisco is spinning out Webex or is that just conjecture based on the "Reallocation" (what a great euphemism. I guess they think it took the employees several years to figure
out that LR means layoffs so they just changed what they are calling it)
Just web conference or Calling also? What about endpoints? Not sure who would even want to buy this in today's market anyway. Maybe Salesforce to add to their bundle is all I can think of. Microsoft has wrapped this enterprise market up with their cr---y but "good enough" software suite like everything else they do.
OK, I'm sorry, I'm not bright enough. :)
What are you actually talking about ? Some more details, please.
Can we group teams spaces in to folders first..
My team just got notified about this too. Lots of work to do to get it done so fast
