Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Bonus

I kept hoping the company would do the right thing and bump up the bonus. 84% is just crazy low. They took care of the shareholders (along with the Ford family) but they didn’t make it right with the employees. It’s a hard pill to swallow especially since so many balked at the EV and subscription services number included and the whole 90% is the new 100%. Then throw on the fact that the UAW is getting a bigger bonus than the GSRs. Plus they got a huge raise. I’m shocked I’m the only one who expected more.

Yall remember in 2022 when they doubled our bonuses due to widespread collective outrage that the executive multiplier was double the GSR/LL6 multiplier?

The problem is, outside of that 2022 scenario, I haven’t seen any solidarity among the GSRs at this company, so there hasn’t been any ongoing result of that. Bonuses are a “bonus”, sure— but they’re pitched as part of our total compensation package, and the reality is, our bonus nominals are woefully low for the industry, multipliers aside. So many salaried GSRs and LL6s are so opposed to seeing themselves as part of the working class, they choose to lick the boots of their LL2s to set them apart from their fellow salaried workers. That’s WHY the UAW has leverage on bonuses and healthcare and we don’t. Farley may be threatening to move UAW jobs out of the country because of their latest contract, but he’s been doing that to GSRs all along, and we have no recourse to fight it, because so many GSRs see themselves as “LL2s in training” rather than workers that are expendable to the JFs and BFs of the world.

@1mwk If subscription revenue was so great, they would make it a separate line item on the financial statement, which they don’t. Also, be aware that they include as “subscribers” all the 90 day free trials. They are counted as paid subscriptions, but are paid for by Ford Marketing. Smoke and mirror accounting.

OP is wrong in assuming Ford Model e subscription services are anything but successful. BlueCruise anyone? Ford Pro suite?

Take rates have been celebrated by Ford leadership.

“ Um, it's called a bonus. Be grateful you get anything and are still employed.”….

That’s right, most Americans do not get such “bonuses”, why should you be paid like an Executive??

You are a salaried worker, considered the MOST Expendable by the company 😞Get used to it.

And there again another example, health care for GSR retirees. UAW health care after retirement, almost 100% covered. Executives don’t need to worry about affording the health car after retiring with their fat salaries and bonuses. Not an issue for them. But GSR’ sc--w you and we don't care about you. You are on your own. Go and figure it out even though when joining the company health care was part of the retirement plan. But keep cutting coast do to mismanagement of the company and take it from the GSR’s only. Not the executives orUAW. Goes to show you how little ford cares about the GSR employees. BF should be ashamed for treating the most valuable asset, his people. (That’s what he claims but we GSR know the truth behind that.) But wait GSR are not his people or valuable asset. We are just an ATM for ford executives.

Funny how salaried bonus amounts change over time...metrics and formulas changed to funnel more profits to the VPs and above. Back in '98, '99 timeframe bonus for SG8 was around $15,000. Those were amazing checks. Inflation-adjusted that'd be $30k today. Kinda similar ballpark to GM's current bonus.

And save your money because when you retire, you're not going to have health care as a salary employee. That has become an $800 a month unpleasant surprise that has gotten zero media attention since it was decided 3 years ago. And our friends at GM and Chrysler have not followed suit there.

Be happy with the bonus you are getting. You shouldn't get a dime, since shareholders have gotten very poor return for years. With the way the Ford+ transformation is going, you will be lucky to have a job in a year.

The greedy executive pigs would give GSRs 0% bonus and give it to them selves, there friends and family if they knew they would not get a bad PR. . It is absolutely disgraceful the disrespect they have shown towards the GSR employees. Just get rid of them and send their job out of the country. It’s not like executives are over paid for the horrible job they are doing. ( look at stock price, it is lower than when I graduated high school decades ago) Grate job executives and congratulations on your big bonuses by taking it from working GSR class.

My bonus was an enrollment in a Jelly of the Month club.

Employees need to leave.

Current employees must discourage people from leaving their jobs to go to Ford.
