Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Back on campus

Employees who are dissatisfied and frustrated about returning to the office are unproductive employees. Why do I think Nike will quickly regret that decision?

@1myi you’re mostly correct. In my experience the people who talk about quitting, don’t. I’ve heard some people in my org talk about quitting but they’re all still here. Meanwhile the people who actually quit don’t talk about it at all until the day they give their notice.

@1myi yes, some people are all talk. What you’re not taking into consideration is the dysfunctional in my dept that everyone is tired of and that some people just want to work remote. Of the 3 that I mentioned, one has already accepted a job starting mid-June, one is going to work at their family member’s business for the time being, and the other is fortunate to be able to quit without having a job lined up. None of them are worried about brand name. They want to be happy.

@1myi, I did that already and did not wait until after June 1st for a bonus that may or may not happen. I also gave up stocks vesting in September. Why? Because that is what I want - fully remote position. Who cares if it is less known brand. I actually got a better position with better salary and a better bonus which more than makes up for the bonus and stocks I gave up. Watch what you say next time because there is always someone like me who will prove you wrong 😂

Quitting after June 1? I’ll believe it when I see it. For every 10 people I know who talk about quitting maybe one actually does it after they realize that “quitting” also means “finding another job that may or may not be better, at a company that likely won’t have the ‘brand name’ and cache of Nike”. That’s the reality of the situation. Most people are all talk.

There are many who will give notice after June 1st. Three in my department are doing this and that’s in addition to 2 who already quit because they couldn’t stretch out working remote long enough.
