Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Got the call

I got the call Tuesday AM. I was ready to go and feel a lot of relief. WF was great to me for many years but my whole new management chain was from JPM and they are just not fun to work with. They also don’t seem to be the saviors everyone wants them to be. Glad to be moving on and to find a company where people actually matter.

@1mzm+1tsbqy9f, your post would have been both excellent and factually correct had you not even brought politics into the discussion. While the economy is is doing well according to traditional measures, the job market is terrible for many reasons, and most of it has nothing to do with politics.

Perfect way to describe the JPM people: not fun and not good at what they do. At least be one of the above.

Still waiting around waiting for a rainy day I guess. Anyone know what’s going on at the barn when downstairs will finally get the boot. This is just so exhausting making every one wait day in and day out. Specific dates rumored, just to be let down and disappointed. Just let us go already so we can get on with our lives, and collect our severance.

@1mzm+1tsbqy9f I wish people would stop posting these false pieces about how hard it is to find a job right now. Yes in certain markets it can be but if you have the right skills you can find a job within weeks. In CLT recruiters are still actively reaching out to people.
Of course if looking for remote only that's harder and you'll have tougher competition, but willing to do hybrid and you won't have to worry at all. (BTW I'm 100% against RTO but it seems that the large banks are in cahoots yet again and are all doing the same thing on requiring it)

$5 billion net profit and $12 billion stock buy back ---> continuous layoff.

Yeah, if that's not a slap in the face and middle finger to employees I don't know what is.

Your life and mental health are better now. I have had the same feeling of relief for a little over a week. Trust me you will feel amazing in 7 days time, a new person. These guys are @ssclowns who can't find their way out of a paper bag let alone produce an operating model within 2 years. More importantly -

ONCE YOU ARE FREE - OCC !!! TELL THEM WHAT YOU SEE, LACK OF CONFIDENCE, UNABLE TO FOLLOW THERE OWN SDLC PROCESSES, LACK OF RESOURCES, ALL HARMING THE CONSUMER. I DID, THERE PLENTY OF OTHER PLACES TO WORK

@1nke+1tsbqy9f , I wouldn't relax too long. It's taking 7-12 months on average to find a new job as 95% of Americans are applying for new jobs in Byden's economy. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/95-employees-want-job-another-120405007.html

I love this idea!!! I'll now be grabbing a bottle of bubbles to keep on hand for when I get the call.

Thanks!

The only thing this company is being "transformed" into is a dead husk vaguely similar in appearance to a bank.

ABSOLUTELY!

I was drinking mimosas during my 'displacement' call (working from home still, and I saw this coming). Had to have been the easiest phone call the manager had to make! It was FANTASTIC, and I danced my 14 months to retirement!

Cheers!

My friend just got laid off after 20 years. It was a total shock to them. They were told to pack up and leave. HR did not physically meet with them. It is very disappointing how it was handled.

I got the call a month ago. I have never been more happier and relieved to be out of that circus after 20+ years. Enjoying my paid vacation. At some point I will get another job outside IT, the waste of life that it is. Cheers

They are the saviors they want them to be. They are transforming the bank exactly as planned.
