Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

ENGINE: When all else fails, copy Exxon

I’m still astonished that today’s email so flatly states we were doing this because Exxon/others already have. It’s such an amazing admission of inept leadership. There isn’t a way you can slice this that does show poor leadership performance. We’re behind in ideas, execution, and efficiency. The solutions is to pick up pennies while stepping over dollars.

Also, ask anyone how consolidation has gone in Manila. I’m selling my stock now.

Exxon here. As an employee I feel for you. Your life just got a lot worse. Ana do ship before it gets too bad. It will get bad. Year on year on year slow spiral down as you train your replacements and watch the company you once knew disappear.

That's what bp said. We are doing it because everyone else is doing it and we are behind. These O&Gs have 0 originality and innovation. It is all about execs and board milking and squeezing any last drop remaining even at the cost of employees. Sick!

Agree @1noe+1u6c8rq8….Everyone’s a snowflake until it’s your neck on the line and then you blabber about unloading stock, petitioning the board etc. Such an overinflated sense of self-worth and entitlement. No one is indispensable and no one has security of tenure. Instead of whining why don’t these guys just do what they’re threatening to do - o wait, I want others to join me! Time to move on from Stage 1 of the change curve…

Exxon and Shell have already scooped up all the decent indian engineers. We will get the leftovers, as usual, or pay a premium to steel them away from their current employers. Terrible.

They are looking everywhere but at top.. it's a sheer top level leadership blunder what's happening in Chevron for over a year now. Well they need to action for Shareholders and board.. this is just a cover up.

It's all fun and games for petrotechs when they're offshoring IT and SCM jobs, but the minute they come for the cushy paper pushers driving their F150 king ranches y'all turn into a bunch of blue haired liberals and whine about it.

Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and put the fries in the bag.
