seems to be a consensus we'll hear nothing before november?

Just to be very clear... Should I block my calendar at high noon on Monday to watch the fight between Nutcase and Skinny Snowflake or nah? Curious minds want to know...
Finally looking forward to some excitement under the cube. Who's with me?
Are you sure you weren't PIP'd? Is your only skill that you can start a physical fight with someone you disagree with? If not already let go, I'd be really worrying about your employment very soon.
Nutcase and skinny snowflake: Remember this is a layoff site on ExxonMobil. Stay focused. No one cares about or will be influenced by your political opinions. Express them by voting.
Ok tough guy! I'm not a chicken-sh– I will be there at noon on Monday. I guarantee you this coward is going to anonymously tell security so the fight gets called off. Be there pu–y. If I am getting fired at least I'm going out swinging.
There won't be any hard announcement prior to the eanings call since we are in the quiet period. Either it happens after the earnings call or on Monday 11/2. They are keeping it pretty hush hush since they don't want another leak like the 401K plan. Even middle management doesn't have the details
Announced on Oct 29 with earnings call...would allow everyone to be off payroll by Dec 31. No Annouccement before earnings call. IOL and EM coordinated announcement. Possibly delayed to december to get people off payroll in January with 2021 severance payment. but give flexibility for everyone to take retirement flexibly ...Dec 3 or Jan 1 as current policy allows and take severance in 2021.
@1odm - we already know that WARN contains an exception to the 60 day rule.
As for PIP’s, they could still happen. Expect the company to give PIP’s a letter explaining that if they fail, then they will not receive a full 2021 vacation entitlement. Also, expect many PIP’s to be told that they failed and be terminated on or before December 30.
November 2 to comply with the WARN 60 day notice requirement for layoffs. Maybe they will actually admit these are layoffs because they don’t have time to wait for another round of PIPoffs
Unlikely to be wrapped up by the end of the year. Europe's layoff is extending through end of '21. Likely will see similar targets for us and Canada layoffs also.
Either November 2nd or later that week will be the announcement, it won’t be before the earnings call I don’t think it’s allowed to make that type of announcement for 2 weeks beforehand.
Oct 29 ahead of the earnings call on Oct 30. Need to show the investors / analysts tangible steps ahead to stop the bleeding. Were BP and Chevron announcements tied to earnings calls?
Boss said he has reliable intel that Nov 2 is the day they announce the total reduction. Expect it to take time to inform affected people but should be wrapped up before end of year.
I think they will simply adjust the severance package to account for 2021 vacation and most will be gone by mid January. If there is a voluntary (gone by early 2021)and then the forced cuts might be implemented in late January and February once they see who retired and quits on their own.
XOM will make the money work out one way or another.
Best interest in the company to get rid as many as possible before the new year. 20+ year employees will get nearly another month's worth of pay in vacation days if waiting too long.
I predict November 2.
My guess is a large percentage will have a lot to do with which way this election goes 🙄
For context: November is only a week away.
If there is a volunteer lay-off program, there is no reason to wait. I agree it will be announced shortly after the board meeting.
The board meets next week so anytime after next week.
Most likely, yes.
