Ford Electric F-150 Sales Plunge 46%

I am telling you. No one in their right mind would buy this truck. It has so many quality issues.

I just took a long cross country driving trip from Michigan to Seattle then Denver and back home again. 5500 miles total. Did not see one electric F150, NOT ONE. Case closed.

LOL, yeah this is the way to go. $5B in losses in two years. This is not a pour more money on it and it will grow sort of problem. There has to be a better way.

At least Ford isn't in this position.

https://www.carscoops.com/2023/10/rivian-evs-are-winning-praise-but-are-reportedly-costing-the-company-a-fortune/

Rivian is admitting to losing $33k/unit. So if they can get the cost out maybe they have a sale-able vehicle. Target sell price is $100k/unit and that's after a campaign to get $40k of cost out. A bridge too far? What do you sacrifice to chop $40k out of a product?

@1oov I’d like to know what area you work in, because your comment is spot on, but I’m sure you can’t say. Farley, Cannes and Moran are all talk, zero results. Canopy is two years late to market and double the price of better competitors. Farley has improved only Farley’s paycheck. Market share has declined since he came in as VP Marketing. Bill Ford and these people are leading Ford to its end.

Plenty of Ford Fails. Argo AI, MSC, Campus Redesign, Ford Next, Doug Field, Mach-E, F150 Lightning, Subscriptions, the list goes on and on and on. Terminate Farley. Take the golden parachute and go play with your race cars.

So true. Ford Motor Company has failed. A C-Suite that only talks and produces nothing. Inferior decisions. Nepotism is the norm. Cannis is one of many examples on advancement based on talk without any tangible results. Moran is another. Canopy finally launches a product and as expected no takers. Epic fail. Arrogance and incompetence rule the design studios. Curic, Piaskowski, Neimic, Gelardi, Lucas perfect example of the old-boy network that have not produced and wins, in fact all their vehicles loose market share. Diversity? Inclusion? LOL, what's the next buzz word? Farley has failed, a so-called leader without a vision other than his own self-promotion. Heartbreaking to witness the termination of many many extraordinary talents based on age and longevity and the off-shoring of salaried jobs to Mexico and India. Hmm, the American Way? The UAW strike is long overdue and ironically has stalled the continued termination of NA salaried. So what's next? EV programs are a huge mess. Ford Next isdissolved and Stern appears as a deer in headlights, overwhelmed. My 0.02$, eliminate Farley, eliminate the absurd salaries and get back to our foundations, manufacture affordable quality vehicles. LOLOLOL, is it really that difficult?

@1ygi+1oYOw5vj big FOMO on the Argo AI thing too. how much was lost on that? so much for "due diligence"

BlueCruise and Ford Pro Services would not be called failures by anyone that knew what they were talking about. Go look up the facts on atFord homepage and get educated on how successful they have been.

@ojc that is the problem. Real truck users want nothing to do with the Lightning. Huge marketing mistake reading the customer wrong. You’d think with all his years as VP Marketing Farley would know better. But apparently he doesn’t.

Farley has to be replaced.

Why? Because of "free money" from the gov't and FOMO

Why do we even build an Electric Truck if the technology is not ready? Truck is a utility vehicle and hauling heavy load, trailering is going to affect the range. Ford is trying to cut its feet to fit in the "Electric" shoe. Make decent Electric Sedans, CUVs and SUVs first.

Days of inventory are shocking right now.

I hate to say it but I think the only reason the company is even negotiating right now is to prevent the collapse of the supplier base. Otherwise it's actually not a bad thing to take a break from production just to let inventory burn down some

Farley has once again FAILED. Doug Field, Jim Baumbick, John Lawler etc etc all FAILURES.
Investor confidence is plunging faster than F150 Lightning sales. Pathetic. Time to dump another useless CEO. Since Mullaly, it will be 3 id--ts, one worse than the next in less than a decade. Ford hires a flunkie from JD Power, and yet Ford is at the bottom of JD's quality list. Laughable. The vehicles are poorly built and are poor design copies of old Nissans and Volvos. Lincoln is meaningless. Where is the accountability? LOL, what happened to all the subscription revenue and new services??!! Townhall was a joke, all jibberish. Even the PR trolls are hiding, can't escape the truth any longer, huh!?! More layoffs? Start with Studio Design, Ford eliinated the incompetent Musgraves and D(umb) Ford, time to cull the likes of J Piaskowsi, etc.

They are just not practical and are way too expensive! Anyone that is a "truck person" should have known that!

@ojc+1oYOw5vj 10 miles is the round trip distance to the grocery store. That is the use case for 90% of Lightning buyers.

Quality is one thing. Going 10 miles in the winter and being down to 75% of full charge is another.
