Since the numbers of vaccinated far outweigh the unvaxxed in the country, we can conclude from this thread that the unvaxxed Qanons in our company are the LOUD MINORITY that spends too much time on message boards and not enough time working. It’s almost as if they behave the way of accusing others of behaving …

I'm 100% for the vaccinated testing and wearing masks, I'd prefer everyone wear them for now. They made a choice to get vaccinated and spread the virus more than others thinking that their are immune when not. That's their freedom but with everything there are consequences so that's what you get. The liberals have fought for years for companies to be allowed to set policy, take away liberties, promote people based on useless non-merit or non-skill metrics and do anything they want. Well Chevron can force the testing and masking. Can't cry about it now after years of "corporations are the bad guys!" Attitude.

At this point I really don't care about the unvaccinated. They have made their choice. If hospital beds are needed for other medical emergencies like heart issues or anything else send the unvaccinated home with instructions to clear the bed. They made their choice. Make them pay fully for their care so we don't have to pay it in higher insurance premiums. Its time to stop caring about them. They used their freedom and now the responsible shouldn't have to deal with them.

Less than 50% of the country are intelligent! That would be the less than 50% that voted for Mar-A-Lardo!

@1qyj

That applied when we used the tenets of operations. Those are long gone. We have replaced that with Minimum Functional Objective.

Which mean just good enough. So for masks you can wear a gator and just leave it around your neck. For a vaccine you can just go to a place that administers them and then walk away without getting it. This is MFO.

Remember: do it safely or not at all. If you are not willing to protect yourself and others you should not be allowed into the building.

This also gives us the benefit of getting rid of Qanon bo-mers that show no regard for the well being of their fellow employees.

70 percent of the country are intelligent. You can't change stupid. Just make them wear a mask and identification to show they don't have full mental capability and treat with caution.

The vaccinated are just as likely to get sick and pass on the virus as the unvaccinated so the vaccine and masks mandates are useless. But don't let science, real data and logic cloud your viewpoints, my pathetically gullible little sheep.

70% of eligible Americans are fully vaccinated.
85% have at least one dose.
If you chose not to get the vaccine, then you’ve made calculations about your health relative to the unknowns of the vaccine.
If you’re vaccinated then you shouldn’t be scared of people who aren’t vaccinated because you’re protected, right?
At this point, people can live with the decisions they’ve made for themselves and their families without judging others.

Also, in the RTW supervisors meeting today, they said we won’t get a 30-day notice whenever they decide to drag us into the office. According to the panel of leaders today, it’s super important to them that they don’t have to make their own coffee and get to eat in the cafeteria. They also took the coward route and didn’t answer my question about “what metrics or EFIs aren’t being met because people are working from home?” The response was, “We haven’t tried the hybrid model yet.”

Chevron will stay the course: masks and tests for the unvaccinated. There is really no reason not to, and they are open to liability if they do not do their part in stopping this pandemic. Simple cost/risk analysis.

If it affects the bottom line, which affects investors, you bet your AZZ Chevron will follow through with the mandate.

It’s not reasonable to assume COVID can be prevented from entering a facility. That’s not Chevrons reason for enforcing the mandate. Sick employees cost company’s money. The worlds new normal is viruses, viruses, viruses. We’re all gonna get it and it can’t be prevented but the costs of it can be mitigated by making the unvaccinated test and wear a mask because the unvaccinated are at more risk of getting real sick than the vaccinated. The unvaccinated are the ones that are more likely to cost the company more in time away and the cost of sick leave.

Chevron won’t be going through with any mandate to their employees on taking the vaccine, forced masking or periodic testing. The poster who is insinuating this to be the case is a troll or just a plain azz. The SCOTUS just cleared the path forward. We are on our way from a pandemic to endemic. We will be living with Covid as we’ve been doing for a long time with the common flu. No one has forced anyone to take the flu shot, so no one here will be forcing the Covid shots on anyone here either. Don’t like it, then quit your cushy Chevron job if you want to prove a point. I bet you choose to shut your face and show up to work.

@nfq - hospitalization rates are already low for COVID19...especially with Omicron coming into play. Prior to Omicron, hospitalization rates were around 10% and that is a conflated mix of cases for those admitted DUE to COVID19 and those admitted for other reasons and found to be infected with COVID19. CDC Director recently acknowledged this error in reporting.

You don't make unvaccinated people (particularly those with natural immunity) who are asymptomatic test every 7 days before being able to enter the building if this was about hospitalization rates. You only do that kind of thorough testing if you're trying to prevent COVID from getting inside the facility...which makes the rate of infection among vaccinated an important stat worth mentioning when discussing the new OSHA rules

Chevron and other corporations are still following through with the mandate. Yes, it’s the anti vaxers who are the problem and the ones who should be accountable to test and wear a mask! It doesn’t matter that the vaxxed might spread it to the vaxxed but it matters if the vaxxed spread it to the unvaxed because it costs more in time off work and medical care to deal with the unvaxed when they finally do get the virus. Of course there will be some unvaxed who only get slightly sick, but there is no way to tell who of the unvaccinated will get a minor cold or have to go on a ventilator. If you are unvaccinated you are rolling the dice.

How can any of you really honestly feel that forcing a medical choice on anyone is okay regardless of what it is. If your own spouse or family cannot get medical information on you what makes you think any corporation should have a right to make you disclose information. Do you really want someone else making your medical choices for you with mandates?

The difference is vaccines you get for Chevron travel or for going off shore aren't experimental and have a well documented histories. The COVID-19 vaccines lack that.

It's certainly within the company's right to proceed with it. We'll find out later this week I'm sure.

Chevron will enforce the vaccine mandate because it’s within their authority as a private company to do so.

Chevron requires vaccines for things like business travel and going off shore anyway so this isn’t new.

I love how the weekly testing for those not vaccinated will be proctored.

Then why would they say they we’re waiting for the ruling when they could have just said, “we are going to do it regardless?!” Hopefully to say….”Uhhhhhm we have to follow OSHA”! Now if they want to force you to take a vaccine to keep your job, they need to be culpable for any adverse reactions up to and including death from the Jabba dabba doo period!

wow...what a lot of work put into complying for nothing...or is it?

The SCOTUS decision only states that OSHA doesn't have the authority to enforce & penalize business not following their guidance. I suppose it wouldn't stop Chevron from going forward with it anyway.

It will be interesting to see if Chevron pulls back or just keeps on trucking. I've not seen anything from leadership on the subject of vaccines that would indicate they are not all in on vaccinating their way out of COVID
