Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

LinkedIn job search engine freaking rocks

Such filters as “work from home” and salary amount. Yeah, yeah, I know, right about now the comments are forming of: “no one is hiring right now man”,” everyone is laying off”.
Keep in mind this is NOT a permanent state of being forever never to be changed.

The job market WILL get better. Companies WILL be hiring.
Update your resume, update your LinkedIn profile, setup your LinkedIn job alerts and be patient. Meanwhile sharpen your skillset while you wait.

The suggestions just made I find are quite liberating and a fantastic stress relief. If the unmentionable happens, layoff, you are more than prepared. You don’t have to worry about a rushed resume revamp. You’ve already prepared. Yea, true, it’ll still su-k nonetheless, but you are prepared.

If a layoff does not happen you are still prepped for when things get better and you can jump ship to a better work place for which there are many.

Trust me, give it a shot, you’ve got nothing to lose.

you’re right. no use to even try ever. Just resolve yourself to the fact that it’d be useless to even consider looking. You are completely at the mercy of Citi with absolutely no safe haven ever. If you are let go, then thats the end.

Look up any remote role making $100K or more and you’ll see thousands of applicants. Good luck 🤦

First, as stated, yes, the market will be stale for a while but once it rebounds make your move.

Second, why limit yourself with the financial industry. Seek employment from another sector.

@1fa, where is more stable? No where is stable. Not right now. Even starting your own business can be rocky.

It doesn't matter you su-k or survive in a layoff. You are outdated with Citi in your resume.
Better take this as a learning and update yourself with latest in market.
Leave politics for good.

Better work place where? I know Goldman, Capital One and BOA s—ks as per the employees working there, so does Wells Fargo and Chase. Where do we go?

No doubt. So you survived the layoff for 2024, so what?
Let’s not forget the reason why we are at this juncture, poor leadership. Unless that changes, we’ll most likely be here again with these same discussions 2-3 years later.

Better to go somewhere more stable.
