Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Accenture typically treats workers really good

Their pay is average but they are organized well with fairly clear career paths. My partner works there.

You mentioned something about layoffs can you
elaborate at all - I was laid off booted to the curb last August 2019 - I’ve seen so many wonderful and talented people either walk away or got the RIF - for some at my age in particular the job market is about non existent - I know some folks still at the KC Shared Services in Olathe Kansas and had long heard that a sell off of this part of AIG might happen - and it has finally come to fruition - I remember monitoring this site long before I was laid off and seeing the words ‘Project 2020 Manila’ so many times - if you or anyone else for that matter has any information thoughts or knowledge of possible up and coming RIF’s please post I’ll be waiting & watching thanks

The other side of this is losing your years of service. Bye bye extra vacation days, 401k match.
Just goes to show, why be a dedicated worker when they can just throw you out like this?
Total BS.

I know they're about to do layoffs themselves. But this is clearly insider dealing. AIG did it with McKinsey, but they wouldn't play ball last year so they were kicked out. Deloitte was here before them. Never worked anywhere where management basically said "we can't manage this part of our business, so we're just not going to anymore".

The kicker is if you don't accept the new role with Accenture you do NOT get severance package. Saves AIG money and screws over the FTEs at the same time. What's not to like ?

Do they work from home? How many days a week?
